I'm pretty sure that even in the "idea" of the Fred Wolf show, Splinter and Hamato Yoshi are the same character, which isn't the way they're going if the leaked concept art is to be believed.

We pretty much know they are not starting off as humans. We have the concept art of them as regular turtles with Splinter crawling around the mutagen.

It's possible they may turn into humans during the movie as that seems to be a recurring theme that Nickelodeon seems intent on pushing. I know that most fans aren't really fond of the idea of the turtles becoming human but since your avatar is of the human Michelangelo from the Pizza Friday short I guess you're okay with it. I don't see why it's suddenly becomes a problem if one or more of them isn't white. No one wants to bring yet another political discussion into this so maybe it's best if certain people stopped trying to be instigators.

It’s still just concept art, though. Keep that in mind. Plots get tossed around and changed during production.

I’m not against the idea of them turning into humans temporarily. Like you said, it’s a recurring theme that started in the 1987 cartoon with Michelangelo turning into a human after he ate an experimental cookie. And thank you for noticing my awesome human Mikey avatar.

What most fans, including myself, aren’t cool with is the concept of the turtles starting out as humans and mutating into turtles. That’s about as stupid and absurd as the proposed alien origin for the Bay turtles. Maybe that won’t be the case; maybe they will turn themselves into human teenagers or will use human disguises to attend high school. Again, nothing wrong with that. And they may not even become human at all. It’s just a rumor at this point.

All I pointed out was that non-white human turtles is a possibility because 1.) it’s been done before in the second MMPR crossover, and 2.) non-white representation in any form of media is a must nowadays, even if it doesn’t make any sense. It’s not problematic. It’s just predictable.

Well, that certainly tracks with the plot structure that animated movies starring teenagers tend to follow. There's probably also an argument that results in them splitting up for about 10 minutes thrown in for good measure.
