Huh... Is this the rumored re-release from last year? That people later brushed off as not being true. I guess it really is happening.

The 2013 Anniversary turtles are seen in the Party Wagon on the back of the box as well (Splinter and Casey Jones are missing this time around). The rotocast figures all have oversized roto heads and uncolored rims around their plastrons (a downgrade from the 2013 turtles). The prototype of the 2013 Raph on the back of the Walmart exclusive Party Wagon reissue box is the only figure on there that reminds me a little bit of the new 2020s Raph reissue. The Classic Collection retro Raph sold at TRU in 2013 had a full yellow plastron. The torsos, arms, and legs of the 2020s turtles repros have the paint jobs of the 2019 GameStop 4-pack turtles.

The commemorative stuff from Playmates seems to have a declining quality as the decades of this century go by. Nonetheless, I doubt Playmates will ever let go of the license.

Hey Mikey0- you always have some good info around these parts. Are we aware of these are Playmates SDCC 2021 reissues that mistakenly got leaked by Walmart or are these something else? Are these going to be in store or online exclusives? Has a Donnie link gone up? Sorry, scouring my sources but good info is scant. Thanks man.

Thank you, SleepDrifter. Currently, it has not been made clear whether these reissues are Walmart exclusives or available to all retailers that carry action figures. The Movie Star 6-pack was a Target exclusive, so it seems safe to infer that these classic basic turtles and the Party Wagon re-release are Walmart exclusives (sold on the website and in stores). Lately, Walmart has been the headquarters for repros of classic action figures. It looks like Playmates took note of that trend.

I don’t think these reissues are the Playmates SDCC 2021 exclusives. This year’s Playmates SDCC set will, in probability, be a Cobra Kai versus TMNT 2-pack or cartoon TMNT 2-pack. Playmates released the Retro Rotocast 6-Pack last year and it was a sneak preview of the two Previews-exclusive figure sets that were up for pre-order earlier this year.

Now, Playmates seems to be releasing the characters from the 6-pack box sets on the vintage cards. Donnie is the only turtle that has not been listed on the Walmart site. Playmates pushed these out quickly for Walmart shoppers and it would appear as if they did not get around to printing the front and back of Donnie’s packaging yet. This situation almost reminds me of the Donatello vs. Shredder and Raphael vs. Triceraton 2-packs at the Australian retailer PopCultcha. Both 2-packs are on the website, but neither one of them have pictures in the windows. Classic Basic Donnie is pictured on the back of the cards of the other three turtles from the Walmart online shop. So, Classic Basic Donnie is slated for release either later this year or next year. At the moment, there are not any pictures of Donnie mint on card online anywhere.

I'm hoping they are lazy enough to release the Mirage Splinter and Mirage Shredder as single packs this way. Still waiting for a 6 pack of footsoldiers in their box set line. It'd be the easiest money they have ever made.

Yeah I could even see those who don't like the re-releases getting that. I mean there is no such thing as too many foot.

Does Playmates do army builder box sets? I can see Playmates releasing a roto head Foot Soldier on a reproduction of the vintage card front for the Foot Soldier.

Personally, I’m hoping to see Krang, Baxter Stockman, and Slash as Walmart exclusives. Slash was pictured on the card fronts of the 25th Anniversary retro figures already, but it would be nice to see the style of the 1989 to 1992 artwork on pegs again.

So they really are supposed to show up in stores? Will be a wonder if they ever show up in mine. Maybe months from now if this isn't just a brief thing they're doing.

Is the van supposed to be in stores eventually or is that just an online thing? Might consider one if it ever made an appearance. Never had it as a kid. Not going to hold my breath on ever seeing that.
