well is it not film? wouldn't that technically be higher resolution than 4K?
I'm ignorant to how re-releases shown on theaters work, if they no longer have the set up to show film they just have digital files sent over?

A lot of people don't understand that..... often illustrated by the guy who doesn't like that you have a home theater setup and he does the "finger point stab" when he says "but... -whips out pointer finger in timely fashion - it has to be filmed in 4k to look good... so." -looks smugly after the 'so' as if he 'got you'.

Film is chemical. Technically there is a world of older movies captured on film that would look better with competent transfers than many newer movies that were filmed digitally in say... 2k.

Chemical film captures what is there in real life incredibly well.
