I remember in the Genesis Hyperstone Heist that the only foot "humor" the turtles did was the beating on the ground left and right. the turtle would hold the foot soldier's arm and throw them back and forth.

I agree they didn't have the screen throw. What animation could Genesis have used to replace it?

Wow 26 to 3, I almost feel bad having voted for Turtles in Time, but having Tatsu in your game is unfortunately not enough to make you the better of the two. I think the big problem with Hyperstone Heist was the difficulty, I was used to Turtle games frustrating me, but me and my pal PJ at age 7 rented and beat Hyperstone first try

Never understood why they didn't just port Turtles in Time to the Genesis. Actually liked the controls in HH better, but it's not as fun as Turtles in Time.

Turtles in Time wasn't very hard either.

Turtles in Time will always be one of my favorite games. I used to play it with my brothers all of the time.

Maybe they meant "Random House Children's Books."

I vote Turtles in Time, if only because it's the only one I actually played as a kid, as we were a Nintendo family and not a Genesis one. If I ever find a decently priced copy, I'm gonna own it.

Hooray for Necroposting.

Woah... this old debate surfaces again?

I can honestly say I enjoy both games, although if you have both handy, I think it's likely one would always play the SNES version unless curiosity compels one to check out the Genny differences. The Tatsu boss fight is definitely fun on Sega, but the boss rehashing in "The Gauntlet" stage is a letdown. You actually fight Rocksteady twice but never Bebop!

I always wanted to check Hyperstone out. Like Jester, we were an SNES household, but it sounds like I didn't miss much. One time I crashed at my tag partner's place and he had it, but we were on a tight schedule and had no time to mess with it. Totally gonna pick it up for the hell of it one day, though.

Hyperstone Heist does have more detailed intro and ending (Hard mode, at least) cinematics, in my opinion. Nothing like watching Super Shredder take a dive into the pavement with some strategic censorship via a cut away at the end.

I recently played this for the first time and loved it. The game looks fantastic in HD with my retron 5. I really like how the levels are longer than turtles in time.

I've never played Hyperstone Heist, but Turtles in Time is my all-time favourite SNES / TMNT game.

Turtles in Time wins by a land slide, Its a no brainer, People remember it more then Hyperstone Heist, Because they remembered playing it at the Arcade long before it was ported to the SNES.

Turtles in Time was a lot better. Hyperstone Heist was a poorman's version of it with the levels being less interesting. It was also harder and more frustrating. That Gauntlet level where you have to face the Leatherhead, Rocsteady and Tatsu all over again, and this time twice as strong, was a pain. And why were we facing Tastu when we had just beat him in the previous level?!

They're the same game. Or really any of the Konami games.

This was a weird time in the industry where instead of companies porting the same game to multiple consoles like they do now, they made "console exclusive" versions of a similar game with different levels.

Its odd some third party games that came out on the Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis was so different from each other. Nowadays they just release the same content on all systems.

And there were even cases of the same game being developed by two different companies for each console. Alladin's SNES version was made by Capcom, whilst the Genesis version was made by Virgin Interactive, the same company that had made The Lion King game.

I guess game ports by the same company stopped being different due to owners of a certain console not feeling excluded or disfavored. Things are fairer these days.
