Did anyone keep up with the Tales series that ran from 2004-2010?
If so, can you recommend which ones would be worth buying and which ones I should skip?
Obviously I'm not gonna buy all 69 issues provided I could find them all.

Lots of good stuff there. It's (relatively) hard to go wrong.
Check this thread, though: http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/showthread.php?t=48642 |

69 issues? You mean 70 issues heh. #69 and #70 are worth getting for differing reasons at least. And anything written by Tristan Jones.

Oh. I thought 70 was part of an old storyline. Gotcha. Thanks for the advice.

It is... some of. It's meant as the story that occurs between parts 1 and 2 of "Return to New York".

A lot of Tales Vol. 2 issues tie directly I to old storylines to close up some dangling threads, some better than others, some raising more questions, bit consistently good overall.

My goal is to own the entire series. I'm lucky enough to have the early Mirage published collected volumes of Tales of the TMNT Vol. 2 but there is still so much out there that I need to get a hold of.

I thought that the first volume of Tales ended in the 90s and Vol. 2 began in the 2000s. Please explain.

The second volume of Tales started in 2004 and ran for 70 issues. This was the last series Mirage ever produced along with Volume 4. |

That's pretty much what I meant - just was off on it ending in the 90s part. So, I'm guessing that means the above poster was just confused.

I was referring to the collected trade paperbacks of Tales of the TMNT (Vol. 2). They were published from 2006 til about 2008. Five volumes were released if memory serves me correct. That's what the Mirage page has listed at least.

And since IDW is now re-releasing all of the Tales of the TMNT, the collected books released from 2006-2008 would be the "earlier Mirage released" versions unless I'm completely wrong.

Also, to be fair, Mirage is still producing Volume 4.
