Got Wave 7 from BBTS this week.
981 days from preorder to delivery. After seeing photos and videos and reading comments, I still wasn’t prepared for how absurdly large the Gorilla is. And honestly, I think he’s too big. Like his accessories are so massive they’re incompatible with the rest of the line. His machine gun is taller than a turtle. He could be 25% smaller and he would still be one of the largest ultimates ever! Punk Don is solid, a lot of fun. Really like the real chain necklace. Metalhead Michelangelo is what I expected from a repaint. The orange accessories work well too, and I like the addition of a set of auto-nunchaku hands. Robotic Bebop would be a massive figure in any other wave. I like him, evokes a lot of the toy. His accessories are kind of odd, like his gun is ABS plastic and hollow. Triceraton is a mixed bag. There are parts of this figure I absolutely love, and parts that annoy me to no end. The good, the sculpt and accessories are what I want out of this line. The shading on his skin is subtle but looks great. He’s big and most of the sculpt is incredible on his arms specifically with individual scales. His articulation is limited, his knees bug me. One thing I haven’t seen mentioned is his torso - the sculpt is super soft, like it was done by someone else last minute. His arms have this incredible texture, but his torso doesn’t match. His neck articulation is a joke, his head swivels and can’t move up/down at all. One last thing I noticed with this whole wave is the paint work seems a little sloppier than past waves. A lot of stray colors on random parts of the figures, Triceraton’s fingernails are a mess and the wash on his head is inconsistent. This wave is such a mixed bag for me overall. |

The thing I found weird is like why is a gorilla larger than a dinosaur. If Triceraton and GG exchanged sizes, it would be perfect!
Speaking of massive, I do hope we get a ridiculously large sized Chrome Dome and Super Shredder from S7. Last edited by Dask; 11-13-2024 at 08:25 PM. |

When are we going to see Shredder, Casey Jones, Splinter, and the Foot?!

Spent the last few days fidgeting with wave 7 at my desk and have discovered a few more oddities:
1. Use caution moving Triceraton's arms - his shoulders will get scratched and scuff to hell if you move them unless his arms are perfectly straight with his torso. Oh, and his bicep joint is USELESS. I tried heating it to make sure it wasn't me but no, they move maybe 10 degrees total. Maybe I got a dud. 2. Triceraton's hands and fingers are weirdly small. It matches the solicit photos, but in hand, they look do dainty in comparison to the rest of the figure (the vintage one had the same size toes and fingers... and this comment is getting weird). 3. Guerrilla Gorilla's happy, blank stare is straight out of his magazine appearance. At first I hated it, but it's growing on me (especially since you can change the look up even more with his sunglasses and helmet). I still can't believe how massive his accessories are. 4. Warrior Metalhead Michelangelo gripping hands are sized to hold his hand grenades perfectly... but not the nunchakus he comes with. Also, the two robo-chuck hands have two different sized pegs. One fits no problem, the other is too long. It's just weird that they're somehow different. I clipped them with a pair of nail trimmers and it works just fine now. |

First, Guerrilla Gorilla, and now, Garfello. I wonder what other characters we will see from the TMNT magazine.

So I ordered a second Undercover Raphael from BBTS since its like $22 and I figured I can customize it and make Donatello, just in case S7 never completes their Turtles in Disguise set.
I was wondering what paints (acrylics?) would be best to paint the bandanas purple. I'm not going to worry about the belt since it's covered by the trench coat. |

They have a few other posts showing off more accessories and the sexy head - and show Rappin’ Mikey in box too. And Dask - yes, you’ll need to prime the figure and repaint it with acrylics. Honestly, if you can find a cheap Don, I would use that as a base instead of repainting the entire Raph figure. |

What gives? Another wave is coming out and we still haven’t seen 2k3 Shredder, Splinter, Casey Jones, and the Foot Soldier.

Oh snap, I totally forgot. They have different skin colors, so it won't just be about painting the bandanas only. I will have to cancel the order then. Thanks!

What this means is that they are going to go all-in with the 2K3 figures (as NECA is likely doing with their 2012 line) or They have resolved issues with Playmates (and or Sakai), and we will see a return to form, with the expected upscaled vintage figures like Traag, Napoleon, and potentially Usagi. So, they are waiting to make an announcement that will fully disclose their corporate vision moving forward in 2025. |

SOMETHING is up with the license - Mondo’s new figures just started hitting and the card back drawing is either the greatest troll in toy history or Viacom got their turtles in a row… or someone dropped the ball and another mandate is coming down hard.
It features PANDA KHAN. |

there is ONE tmnt license. it covers all tmnt property. usagi and panda khan are the only edge cases as they are not under the tmnt property. beyond that, it's all fair game. viacom may choose to direct their licensees away from different areas for various reasons, but that's their choice. it's not and never was a license issue. don't listen to Brian and his excuses. |

I would argue that the Panda Khan license is pretty easy to get. No one really tried until NECA...
Also, Stan Sakai has been very liberal with their Usagi license in the past. He just doesn't like the Playmates vintage design, but I really don't see that from being an absolute roadblock. Maybe Brian didn't try hard enough. Also, Sgt. Bananas (in artwork form, at least) is featured in the back of the Mondo blister card, so I don't know what was up with the hoopla... |
