Oh god, the mental image of Peter Laird's bitter and weary face as he spends an entire day at a furry convention is too good. I can't believe that actually happened.

Goddamn- he literally doesn't age. The eternal 50 year old man.
Interesting footage though. He's a little less worn out than I figured he would be. He even cracked a couple half-smiles. |

Peter Laird has literally looked the same since like 2001 till now. Maybe a few more wrinkles, but otherwise you can't tell the difference. He's one of those people who looked old when he was young, so now that he is actually old, he still looks the same.

That's not such a mean feat. So do I. And I happen to be way more good-looking than that guy. So I had a lot more to lose and have lost absolutely none of it. I probably deserve something for that.

How old is that video though? Wasn't he looking kind of noticeably aged in that "The Toys That Made Us" Netflix episode?

It's from 2005, so it's 15 years old.

Sumac thinks the furry fandom or bronies rapes animals and all, an old stereotype just like he probably thinks blacks are all gangsters with guns, Jews are all greedy, Mexicans are lazy, Italians are all gangsters etc. as in stereotyping.
Not all of us furries and bronies want to bang anyone's pets like a certain furry back in 2013 in Boise who ****ed his pet cat and got arrested and the furry fandom disowned the guy as they want nothing to do with him. |

I mean, that's a fair point. To me, saying "All/most people who are attracted to furry cartoon characters also want to commit bestiality" really isn't a far leap from saying "All gays are pedophiles" and things like that. I'm certainly guilty of making broad generalizations about people, but stuff like that is even too mean-spirited for me.
Like yeah, I'm sure there are people like that, but consider this: Not a week goes by where I don't read a news article about a female schoolteacher getting caught having sex with one of their underage students. I don't have the data, obviously, but based on a gut feeling I'm quite sure that sort of thing happens far more often than a "furry" fan actually committing a sex act with an animal, but we don't vilify all female schoolteachers as pedophiles based on the actions of a select few, right? Nor should we. It's just very interesting to me which prejudices are "acceptable" and which ones aren't, even though human beings collectively agree that judging an entire group of people based on a few is morally wrong. "Not those guys over there, though, those guys are weird, grab the nooses." Doesn't take much, either. Like I said... interesting.

Sumac is a judgmental person.
I consider anthros as people who are different. He's no different than a book published in the south of the US that was a guide to why people of different skin were not human and even what whites thought about Native Americans " The Indian…is an untamable, carnivorous animal. (Dr. Josiah Nott, 1847)" Whites thought cherokees were dumb animals back in old times and not human. Nothing wrong with being attracted to an anthro or extraterrestrial (as i like my extraterrestrial women to actually look like aliens like M'ress). Why would he be afraid of anthros if they existed? i would not be afraid of them, i'd accept them even date one. He's all about looks vs special skills and abilities and no different than a book published in the US in the mid 1880s that was a guide to why people of different skin color were not human.
