Y: The Last Man TV series (FX)
Based on the Brian K. Vaughn comic. Hits next month.
Oddly... kind of seems more relevant than ever now. For many, this is their utopia.

Zombies? meh, they're so plaid out. I thought this'd be a harlem anime where a guy is getting all this pussy since he's the only one left.

No. There are no zombies in this that I am aware of. It's about every man on the planet suddenly dying... except one. And then it's about his adventures.

Honestly a little shocked this is actually a thing after being in development hell forever. |

Well... that we're getting this now means it was already going at the beginning of COVID (which is not a plague) or shortly thereafter.

I'd be all in, but only if he has the monkey! I loved that comic series.

We all know if there's a plague the sole survivor is gonna be Cybercubed.

This has been something I've been meaning to read for years. And now I'll probably be meaning to watch it for years.

I'm not familiar with the source material. Is this a woke reimagining of it?

I don't know if they've "woked" out the show beyond it's initial premise, but I always thought it was an interesting premise. I'll have to pick up the Graphic Novel at some point... but I've been saying that for more than ten years now soooo..... |

The comic series was great. I habe the 3 giant compendiums of it after being loaned some of the trades early on & enjoying those. Might have to dig them out & read it again.

The forum haters would call you a liar and swear that you never actually read it... You know... because it's a story about the prominence of women.

On an interesting side note, most birds would probably be exempt, since avian chromosome sexing is not based on an X/Y base, but has a seperate typing. Something I picked up a while back. So presumably, there would still be plenty of chickens and other fowl! (Which the comic never mentions, and probably just assumed they were X/Y....)

I'm considering downloading it, but I don't know if it will ruin me for the comic!
I'd basically rather read the comic first. On that note, I've still never read the Walking Dead either, but I also gave up on that show some seasons back. |
