Feh. I'd hoped this would be a bonus on the season 4 volume 1 disc.

Speaking of which, we've gotten the volume 1 release of each season in March for the last 3 years now. Odd that it hasn't been announced, yet Blast to the Past was.

I guess we should give it time.

Blast to the past was funny. I like how Donnie was explaining how they might have gone back in time, and Raph was like " blah blah blah, who do you think we are? Nasa.

Any idea if they're planning to make a sequel to this given the cliffhanger where the Turtles end up in the future?

Im betting they will make a sequel. And I think they are either two ways they can go with it:

1. Continue from where the original special ended on a cliffhanger but it kinda seems a bit unfitting tonewise to me.

2. Have the turtles go on adventures in space, with april, casey an fugitoid since one set of them went there in the episode "earths last stand". To me, it seems that this would fit the more lighthearted tone of hsh while having more creative potential. The stuff about overcoming shredders control of the city, i think is best left to the main series.

If not, this might almost be another "bad guys win" story.

FYI, VUDU.com has dropped the price on the SD and HDX digital versions of Blast to the Past to $1.99/2.99 down from previously $4.99:
https://www.vudu.com/content/movies/...-Heroes/717747

Not sure if a permanent change or if it's part of their 2018 End-of-Year sale.

EDIT:
And the complete bundle of the 2012 Nick series is on sale for an astounding $24.99 in HDX!

Yeah, it's odd how so many movies/television shows will still get DVD releases but no Blu Ray despite selling digital copies in HDX.

There's a market for people buying cheap physical media, but not to spend the extra money on high end physical media. The same thing happened with music CDs, we had a few different better CD musical formats like SACD but there wasn't enough demand for the higher price. People just prefer to stream and the ones who want higher quality/own it settle with digital HD when no BR is available. In this case parents don't want to waste too much money on kids shows they'll stop watching in a few months and not enough adult fans to fill the niche.

I dunno. I know Avatar and Korra have Blu Ray releases now. So maybe TMNT will happen in the future.

I don't know if it's been mentioned anywhere on the forums here (my apologies if it has), but I saw that they aired this on Pluto's TMNT channel.

Blu-ray is own by Sony. They have to pay them extra cash to release them. So they go the cheap way. DVD and digital. Cheapest is digital. No case to make or burning disc to do.
It doesnt change anything if its SD or HD or 4K. They will just release it in the format it was made.
But they can go the extra mile to remaster something. Like Batman TAS or Star Trek TNG (hey how is that Star Trek DSN bluray release going? Oh right, they wont do it. TNG didnt sell enough for the hard work they put into it).
By default, the format for the Nick show is HD so putting them digitaly would be the cheapest way. Even if I really want a physical release in HD, they really dont care.

I can't even watch anything in DVD quality anymore. 480p, in 2020? There's no way.

My player is getting on now but it's one that ups to 1080p, Is this not a thing all new models would be doing now at least?
I still buy them but I also buy Blu Ray, depends on what it is. I think my only TMNT movie that is Blu Ray is my least favourite, but I saw it for £1.50 at one of those stores you get second hand games and controllers, consoles etc so I picked it up.
