Vintage Sealed Retromutagen Ooze
How rare are these getting these days?
I found these in my parents attic, thought I had lost them or thrown them out. Purchased off ebay back in 02 or 03, all three for around 50 bucks. There are a couple listings for sealed green canisters, I can't seem to find anything on the purple ones.

You'd think it'd be concrete by now.

The Retromutagen Foot Ooze is super rare. Those were discarded from Toys R Us shortly after they were put out.

It is, actually. I remember I used to make it as a kid, they actually taught us how to do it in school during science teaching. And it's possible to do it in any type of color. Unfortunately... I don't remember how to do it, since that was so long ago (it was in elementary school that I learned to do it). Still, that should give you a general idea of how easy it is to make.

Make your own slime:
1/2 teaspoon borax 5 ounces clear glue Green and yellow food coloring 1.5 cups of water In one container, mix together: 1 cup of warm water 1/2 tsp of borax Stir to dissolve. In a another container, mix together: 1/2 cup of water 5 ounces of clear glue 2 drops of green food coloring 5 drops of yellow food coloring Combine the two mixtures together. You got ooze. You can also do it with just cornstarch and water in a 1:2 ratio plus food dye. |

We really need a stop motion video of krang in a chefs hat/apron making the stuff with bebop and rocksteady causing chaos on the set.

You can still buy newly produced slime from a variety of companies. I remember an old video by PixelDan reviewing a couple of them.

I don't think there's an in-universe difference, or even a distinction. It's just that the cartoon was inconsistent with which color ooze was between purple or green, so I guess Playmates just slapped a different labeling on it depending on which color they were selling.

Regular release retromutagen sealed goes for 500-900. It's steadily gone up. The Foot variant has skyrocketed and have seen sold listings for 1200+.

I've been thinking about it as well even though my gut instinct is telling me grading toys in general is kind of silly. But if you're looking at it as strictly an investment, I guess I can understand that point.
