The latest rumors say that sega will release two sonic games one 2d and one3d like they did in 2017. As a big Eggman fan cant wait for them. It is my favorite platform series since 1994 that i played the first sonic(sonic1) and since theni have played most of them(excet sonic boom and sonic labyrithn). They must announce them as soon as possible

As primitive as it looks at that development stage, I like it. It would have been perfect for the DS. I'm one of those people who gets very nervous any time a new Sonic game is announced, but as the years pass I'm happy to go back and give things a chance, even if they have a poor reputation in their day.

Some people dug up files and the new game is at the moment named Sonic Rangers.

There was a leak from a few months ago that apparently went mostly unnoticed. The person claims they played a demo and it’s open-world with the new ability Spincycle to take out enemies (the way he creates a circle in the teaser).

Normally you’d think it’s just trolling but they even had the title Rangers...months before this reveal. There’s no way that’s a coincidence.

I don’t really care about more Genesis ports but I’m hyped for the new game. Whatever it is.

I’d love to see Nintendo make a Sonic action/platforming game. Basically use their Mario expertise but try to inject it with a sense of speed, and of course, “cool.”
Sonic is like Mortal Kombat, in that the success lies in the characters and world. Wouldn’t hurt to get the gameplay right though, geeze.

Well they aren't going to be genesis ports, they appear to be the Taxman version of the games which are rebuilt in widescreen and the best way to play Sonic 1 & 2 but they were stuck on mobile phones with no controllers and there was no version of 3. But if it's those then it's technically the best versions of the games that exist ported and not just the genesis roms being emulated like in most collections. I have owned collections of the Sega games way too many times now, but it looks like I'll have to buy them one more time

We don't have details so perhaps something does make it "ultimate", at the very least the game was never made in HD, it was for the Wii so that will be a big improvement. Some are speculating it'll have the Nintendo DS exclusive levels but that's pure speculation. Counting it's $40 and it includes a keychain as an incentive to buy it, I'm guessing not much is being done to the game.

Ya I know what versions they are. I’m sure the upgrades are nice but I’ve never played them. I wouldn’t mind having them it’s just I cannot get excited about more Genesis re-releases. Especially when there’s a lot of uncommon Sonic games they could have put into a collection instead.

A lot of people, myself included, were hoping for stuff like Knuckles Chaotics, SegaSonic and portables.

Gems Collection for the GameCube was great because it had games that were not really available until then. Not the greatest games but they were interesting and fun to finally play on console.

Or there might be more to it if they only decided to release a teaser trailer at the moment, rather than a full trailer.

They did say they'll have more features than what we got with the Sega Ages releases on the Switch, which added the drop dash from Sonic Mania to both Sonic 1 and 2 as well as the spin dash to Sonic 1. Not to mention, the highlight of this release is meant to be Sonic 3 and Knuckles which hasn't been re-released on anything since the 360/PS3 due to legal issues with the soundtrack.
