The art of Ciro Nieli book, was this worth it?

I've been considering getting this, for those who have it, is it worth it?

It's very worth it, I mean the price isn't even that high. Worth it for that alone. I wish the art were featured larger, a lot of it is crammed together and you can't appreciate it very well. But the content as a whole, yeah.

The lowest price it has been is around $24 so at the current $26 (as I write this) it's still a great sale price.

I think people will be happy to own it as the nostalgia factor of the 2012 slowly grows over time.

Looking at the preview images it makes me realize how nice the show could have looked as a 2D cartoon.

If you look at the storyboard animation in these clips, the human characters would have looked more accurate in body dimensions.

I mean look at April here, she looks like an actual 16 year old.

I remember there being a lot of discussion about this book in the thread we had for it. It's individual, I thought it was worth it, but that doesn't mean it would be for you. You just have to decide from what you've seen, you either want it or you don't.

I have it, I quite enjoy it! There's not a whole lot of writing in it, but there is some, but the concept art is very plentiful. I'm a big fan of that version, so it was worth it for me to have. I got my money's worth out of it, i feel.

Agreed, speaking as someone else who bought it. What writing was there also gave me some pleasant surprises in my eyes.

I actually think 2012 would've looked better as a 2D show, the teases we got when episodes ended.

Yeah, that way we wouldn't get the embarrassing pre-rendering or lazy re-use of assets.

I think so. It's pretty well put together too. Would love to have had a book like this for the 80's and 2003 series.
