1987 and 2012 crossover!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LYztL-L8w1I
We're almost done with the space arc, so who's excited to see the crossover of TMNT 2012 and 1987?

I thought you had new info, hm.

In any case it should be interesting especially with all the old voices reprising their roles and the original Krang returning and meeting Kraang sub-prime.

Excited? It's the only reason I'm still watching this show at this point (barring the spectacle of an episode this morning).
And just before anyone else says it, I think this post would be better off in the stickied Season 4 discussion thread

"The world is so flat I can't even see my own butt."

This will be cute.

Side note, the Nicktoons commercials for the Turtles being on in the afternoons has a little blip of "87" Mikey that I've been wondering if it's from this. Or Turtles Forever (since that commercial is collectively TMNT stuff), but doubting it. It does also show "little Mikey" from last week's episode and had been in the same commercial before that ep aired, so... maybe?

Wait, whaaat?! Are you saying there's already finalized animation from this being previewed as a snippet in the general promos?

I take it back, I think. Found the commercial online, able to pause it now I realize 2003 Raph is behind Mikey at 0:21 so it's prob a shot from Turtles Forever.

Yeah, definitely from Turtles Forever. There's even other shots from the film.

What I'm interested in is how they'll pull off the '87 animation style in a 3D world.

Speaking of Turtles Forever, I'm kinda hoping they make some sorta sly reference to how 4Kids misinterpreted the classic toon.

NICK DON: "A multiverse with countless incarnations of us? Fascinating!"

NICK RAPHAEL: "So have you met any other versions of us?"

1987 DON: "Um no, but from what I learned apparently there were these other two worlds that crossed paths. One was... physically identical to us-"

1987 RAPHAEL: "Yea, but they had the combined IQ of a turnip. Frankly I feel sorry for anybody who thinks we're anything like those jokers!"

I don't think it would be like that....I think if Turtles Forever is mentioned at all...The OT Turtles would just say they have encountered other worlds where different versions of themselves exist. And leave it at that.

Maybe Mikey would comment about him wondering if there was an alternate universe version of him where he is a super hero.

I haven't been keeping up with when this episode is supposed to air. Has a scheduled air date been announced?

No, but the hour long specials are always mid-season features that air in March. I'd expect the same for this one.

It also doesn't happen till the Turtles get back home from space, and we have another 7 episodes for that. Even longer if we go on another rerun break.

Ugh... Look, the 80's cartoon might have a lot of nostalgic draw to it but it's not something anyone should even pretend to take seriously. Making fun of it is like making fun the 60's Spider-Man cartoon or Superfriends, it's better to mock a lame cartoon people only love out of nostalgia than prenteding there's any legimate redeeming qualities about it.

We're getting close to the end of the space arc. 1987 and 2012 crossover is almost after The Cosmic Ocean.
