Well yes and no, You can find people who didn't enjoy it as a movie in general. It isn't always because they are hardcore fans of the original comic.

I've seen plenty of people online who never read the book also say they didn't like it for one reason or another, so that "they're just nitpicky purists" logic is flawed, too. If a person never even knew the comic, they couldn't be annoyed at anything being different, they just didn't like the movie.

I'm pretty sure I'll like it a lot, everything about it kinda seems up my alley.

I'd normally be annoyed that a thread about a particular movie had been derailed by another movie, but in this case I don't mind. It's GotG for crying out loud!

I hate those kinds of people. Why would they want it to be exactly the same? What would be the point? If you want to see a specific thing, read the comic instead.

I totally respect this. I didn't care much for Iron Man 3 (not a small minority, I know) and I've never read an Iron Man comic in my life.

If you don't care about Batista, GotG will definitely change your mind. He's great in it, really funny. Took me completely by surprise, I thought he was gonna be the token tough guy. Which he sort of is, but he does it in such an amusing way.

It's a shame you never saw it in theatres. Hearing the audience laugh at every joke created such a wonderful atmosphere.

I didn't make it out to the movies all summer after "Godzilla", just needed to put money towards other things.

Though I like the original 90's movies better, I actually enjoyed the 2014 movie. I liked how April and Raphael worked together to help Splinter.

They didn't really help him so much as leave him to most likely die in a place that was falling apart where the bad guys knew where he was.

lmao Nothing. But Leo mentioned he didn't spend much money this year after watching Godzilla and I joked it was because he was saving up to bail Kevin Nash out since he was recently arrested and I know Leo is good friends with the guy.

I haven't been on this forum for a LONG time..... Just saw the newest TMNT movie, and I suprisingly loved it. From all the previews, I was expecting to really hate it. I am glad I approached the movie with a open mind before I watched it at home. Only regret, not going to the theater to see it. I am surprised I may be in the minority on this forum. It looks like the movie is getting some hate around here.

You know I'm beggining to get surprised at the sheer amount of people who seem to slowly begin to change their opinion on this movie and say they like it and defend it. I guess they feel sorry for the turtles.
