I met Suzy Gardner once. Around 1992, she came up to me before a show and started talking to me about my Black Flag shirt.
I bought a Smell the Magic shirt at that show, and that shirt got me thrown out of a few friend's houses by their parents.

The soundtrack to Outlast. That was a really freaky game!

Digimon World OST -- Factorial Town

Best song in the game. There's a reason I took the name Netkeeper.

It's a Monday, so I had to kick it off with The Cramps - just to give my brain a bit of a wakeup-shakeup!

L7 are the greatest. I got to see them with AFI and Offspring back in 1997 at the Stone Pony. RoxxStar Fact: "Pretend We're Dead" was the first song I ever crowd-surfed to.

Offspring still drew more of a punk crowd back then than they do now, so a couple of fans were giving Donita Sparks a hard time, yelling the usual drunken "take off your clothes" stuff guys at concerts do. This one dude screamed "show your t*ts", so Donita brought their huge, fat, hairy roadie onstage and told him to take his shirt off, saying "That guy (points at rowdy fan) said he wants to see your t*ts, Bubba!" Fun moment.

I always had a crush on Donita Sparks. Sigh.

Dude, that's awesome. Much envy for getting to see them in concert!

Offspring... I think we should've just put them on ice back in 1995, so we could remember them still being good. I know "good" is a subjective term, but the wheels really fell off the bus with Americana, IMO!

You're nuts, that album was great, the radio ruined it by only playing the goofy sh*t, from then until forever. Conspiracy of One was the weak album of the bunch, but everything since then has been pretty great. Every single album has at least two of the best songs they've ever done. "Splinter" had Can't Get My Head Around You. "Rise And Fall, Rage And Grace" had Hammerhead and You're Gonna Go Far, Kid. "Days Go By" has Slim Pickens Does The Right Thing And Rides The Bomb To Hell, Dividing By Zero, and the updated, far-superior version of Dirty Magic. And, as someone who was front row for them in 1997 and again in 2012, their live act has only gotten tighter, even if they don't jump around as much as they used to. They may not be getting "better", but they certainly haven't gotten any worse. "Smash" was one of the greatest records anyone ever did, nobody could do that again. Aside from Metallica, I don't know too many bands around their 30-year mark that have such an impressive catalog. AFI will get there one day, I hope, but most bands don't make it.

Nobody's ever gonna win an Offspring argument with me, anyway. I been with 'em since the beginning and they were awesome guys when I met them. The fact they still make great records is kind of a bonus for me at this point.

Looks like I bit off more than I can chew with that one! I didn't enjoy much after Smash, but to be fair, some of their tracks really got played to death over here. Australian radio DJs used to just play the same four or five tracks over and over ad nauseum.

But hey, props where it's due, they've got some good stuff - I love "Beheaded" so much that I'm prepared to cut them a great deal of slack! Seeing them play that in Idle Hands just made the whole movie for me.

That being said, I wouldn't consider myself a hardcore fan and I haven't picked up anything of their since Conspiracy of One - you've got me curious enough to give some of their later stuff a try.

I like Conspiracy, quite a bit, actually, but it's their worst record.

They're one of those bands the radio just ruins for people. They take the weakest songs on the record and over-play the sh*t out of them until nobody wants to ever hear them again. They've continued the trend of using copious amounts of humorous songs on each record, but sadly, it seems that those "done for laughs" tracks are what the radio stations latch onto. None of the stuff on the radio is ever the best stuff on the record, and I hate that. I mean, "Pretty Fly", yeah, we get it. What about "Staring At The Sun" from that same record? No play.

The newest record wasn't the best one either, but the Dirty Magic update sells it by itself. It wasn't a bad record at all, it's just not as strong after a few listens. Some of the songs absolutely hold up, though. I could listen to "Slim Pickins..." twice a day, every day, for the rest of my life.

"Splinter" is a great record, too, but it's really short.

Cradle of Filth - Midian. This was one of my favorite albums when it was released and I was a big COF fan. Those days are gone, but recently I listened to this album again after many years and it's still damn good.
