Yeah, me too. For me it's like... if all horror movies everywhere stopped being horror movies after like, the "Scary Movie" franchise started up. Why worry about that?

Plus the DB5 show up in Skyfall, which I though was just a funny little reference at first, but then they used it pretty extensively in the last act; goofball gadgets and all.
The Bond games released around the time Skyfall came in revealed Craig's Bond had gone through versions of missions the prior Bonds had been on.

Yeah right, I remember those. It was surreal seeing Craig in Goldeneye.

I don't know man. It's an unfortunate occurrence when parodies are super popular. The thing being poked fun at - even lovingly - and the people behind it get super self conscious and tend to course correct, or attempt to. It happens way too often.

See also, deconstructions that become popular, especially if they don't reconstruct by the end, and how the things being deconstructed take all the wrong lessons from it.

Oh yeah, that was a thing, wasn't it? I'd meant to play that. I don't remember why I didn't.

Daniel Craig doesn't hate doing Bond. Here's why he "didn't want to do it" as explained to Stephen Colbert:

I'd have no problem getting paid millions to star in the most expansive movie franchise of all time.

Craig's personally requested that Phoebe Waller Bridge (Killing Eve) "liven up" the script for Bond 25.

https://www.digitalspy.com/movies/a2...-daniel-craig/

And according to rumour

Spoiler:
Bond kicks the film off in retirement, and is brought back to help his successor as 007 out of a jam...and yes, the new 007 is a woman

They won't do it. executive producer of Bond Barabra Broccoli has stated numerous times Bond won't be a woman.

“Bond is male,” she told the Guardian. “He’s a male character. He was written as a male and I think he’ll probably stay as a male.”

Spoiler:
They never said Bond would be a woman (unless she's revealed as a long lost sister), it's just an agent designated as 007 in Bond's absence is one, and we don't know if that will remain the case after the movie is over, it could just be a one-and-done

The odd thing is, he ended up stepping down as Bond just as they were about to do one of the most faithful adaptations of the books (OHMSS) and then came back to do more of the same stuff he hated (DAF)

1. They paid him a lot for DAF (like 1.1 mill....and he donated most of his pay to scottish school fund or something so the man cant be all bad)

2. UA financed several films besides DAF , that helped bringing him back a final time (excluding NSNA which was not by EON)

So while Bond has retired when we catch up with him in Bond 25, the 007 codename has now been assigned to the character played by Lashana Lynce. Yes, the first black 007...who's also a woman.
