RIP Earl 'DMX' Simmons

Quote:
“We are deeply saddened to announce today that our loved one, DMX, birth name of Earl Simmons, passed away at 50-years-old at White Plains Hospital with his family by his side after being placed on life support for the past few days,” his family said in a statement. “Earl was a warrior who fought till the very end. He loved his family with all of his heart and we cherish the times we spent with him. Earl’s music inspired countless fans across the world and his iconic legacy will live on forever. We appreciate all of the love and support during this incredibly difficult time. Please respect our privacy as we grieve the loss of our brother, father, uncle and the man the world knew as DMX. We will share information about his memorial service once details are finalized.”
RIP to the genius behind one of the greatest hype meme songs of all time.

Just saw the news. Hate to hear it. Always had a few of his songs in my regular rotation. R.i.p.

Man 2021 can go straight down to hell. First Prince Phillip and now DMX in the same day?

What is this, two birds with one stone? Go to hell 2021!

Lemme guess...Meghan stan?

Phillip, while a most erratic man at times, was one of great historical importance who saved many lives in the world wars, DMX on the other hand was a crack addict who wrote blue rhymes about violence and rape.

Oh wait, I forgot, he's black, so that makes him an angel regardless in your twitter nation. My apologies.

Real talk and gallows humour aside, I do like DMX...but his contributions to entertainment are crass at best and contribute nothing to overall society in comparison to the charitable duties and service the Prince provided to England and the world culturally. There are islands that worship him as a God even. Facts matter lefty.

Oh my goodness. That's such a tragic fate.

I hope he will be able to rest easy. I give my condolences to his loved ones.

Yeah. I mean Prince Phillip is a loss for sure, but the guy was 90, had a long life and did just about everything there is to do for a successful person, I'm sure. The DMX loss was an early death for the wrong reasons, too young.

Drugs are a helluva Drug.

Never a fan, I just kinda have to chuckle at how many people online are treating this like a Big Huge Deal.

It's a slow news week dude, and Trump isn't in office anymore.
But be careful if you point that out otherwise you'll be called a "raaaasssssssss-cyst!"

People can call me whatever they feel like. Race has nothing to do with it; I generally smirk smugly and sip something sweet whenever ANY crackhead kicks off, doesn't matter what they look like.

I just think it's funny that some people think it's a matter of any significant relevance whatsoever. Dude was a crackhead, dawg.

DMX? I saw him in a movie once. In that movie his daughter gets kidnapped by Chinese gangsters or something. It was an entertaining action movie. Can't remember it's title but I'm sure you guys know what I'm taking about.

Never listened to his music iirc.

I mean, sure it sucks he died. But apparently he was a huge drug addict? Also, people are acting like he was a legend of some sort? Maybe he is in the rap world or something, I dunno. But it's not like he was a legendary actor. So I'm surprised a lot of people online are claiming to be big fans of him. I guess it happens to every celebrity who dies, but in some cases more than others.

Pffft. "Rap Legend". Madchild is The Greatest. I keep telling people this but they remain obstinate.

I don't know much about rap music, so I have no idea what DMX represents to the genre. Then again, people overuse that term nowadays and a lot of musicians end up achieving more success than they deserve.

I bet a lot of people also consider the likes of Drake Lil Wayne, Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus legendary musicians too.

Madchild wrote a song called "Zombie F*cker". That in itself is a Platinum Trophy, 50GP Achievement, whatever your preference. It's "Legendary", is my goddamn point.

Conversely, I'm not aware of much of this X fellow's work. Other than he is, indeed, allegedly "Gon' Give It To Ya", and that he's been purposely quite vague about what "It" is or was.

Meh.
