Several collectors on social media are miffed because Playmates is using the 2014 glider and not the ‘88 original.

Technically, it’s not a reissue. I don’t know who gave it the name Retro Collection Turtle Blimp.

I don’t think you will have a problem finding the Party Wagon since there were plenty of 25th Anniversary and Classic Collection vans at TRU a while back. Walmart will keep the vans stocked up and there’s Brickseek, Instok, PopFindr, and zooLert to track them.

Thanks, hopefully they'll make it to mine eventually. Can't trust that place too much.

I'd really like to see a reissue of the original Retromutagen Ooze, same tubs, same baby turtle and the closer they can get the ooze to the original recipe the better.

Playmates needs to release Walmart exclusives of the Foot Soldier, Splinter, Shredder, and Bebop first. The box art for the Retro Collection Turtle Blimp is already drastically modified from the original and the purpose of these Walmart exclusives is to cash in on nostalgia. Collectors need a Sewer Playset package that is a near-exact reproduction of the first one from ‘89. As of right now, only the turtles have been reissued on vintage cards, so the turtles may be the only ones depicted on the upcoming Sewer Playset box.

We can be mad about the blimp but at the end of the day, it's a great opportunity to possibly get some replacement parts (the inflatable and its fins)...or parts to use on display so you can deflate and prolong the life of your actual original.

Unless, that is, it had to be modified to attach to the 2012 base instead of the original. Then that might not work so well.

are you talking about an acutal playset, or the the 5 or 6 pack of figures in box that resembles the sewer playset

How is that even possible? I wouldn't think the original 90's blimp would connect to the newer glider. Or did they just give the new glider the original color scheme?

It looks like the Retro Collection Turtle Blimp will be a repainted 2014 glider with a new balloon and fins that closely resemble the 1988 original blimp balloon and fins. The 2014 glider will be given the color scheme of the first Turtle Blimp. It will retail for around $58.97 dollars.
