So what do we know what was cut?

So this movie was reshot and re-edited before the release, which does show a lot...

So how much footage was cut and replaced? We know scenes that showed Sacks to be the Shredder were cut and replaced with scenes of Tohoru Masamune as Oroku Saki (I assume he's Oroku Saki, we never get a name of the character). But what did these scenes actually depict and how long were they?

There's also a bunch of other scenes that were evident from set photos that never made it into the movie, as well as that ending of April reporting. Dowe know the full context of those scenes?

-Sachs as Shredder
-Baxter Stockman's involvement
-Kevin Eastman's cameo (as a lab assistant)
-Foot Clan "super soldier" experiment plot & scenes (which included Vern & April stumbling upon the room where they're being mutated)
-Foot Clan member committing Hara-Kiri before The Shredder
-Numerous fight scenes
-April & Raph's trench coat excursion through Times Square
-April & Karai's fight scene
-Vern being in the lair with April & the turtles
-Michelangelo's guided tour of the lair

At least this much.

There was also talk of the Foot Clan being militarized so that the scene where they have a war in the streets with NYPD (& possibly the army, too, iirc) would be on more level playing ground, but I don't know if this was cut from the script or if they actually filmed parts of it & took it out.

They even made a toy of Raph from that trenchcoat scene, but it was inexplicably omitted from the final cut like so many other things.

I daresay this movie might have been a little bit tolerable if it hadn't been whittled down to the bone and stripped of any interesting parts.

That toy looks terrible.

Vern was originally in the lair when the foot attacked. The scenes with Vern waiting for April in the Alley with the van and meeting Raph for the first time were reshoots because in the original cut they had already met.

So.. can we watch these scenes anywhere, or are they "lost forever"?

Pretty much lost forever. The odds of Bay and company releasing them anywhere is probably slim to none.

I believe that only features the Raph in a trenchcoat scene, though, right? It's not any of the good stuff, like mutagen super soldiers or April and Vern versus Karai...

They blow up money to make those scenes!

Why don´t they make a bluray like "Movie+cut scenes"?
Its idiotic to not do that, and not fan friendly

My guess is that we're in the minority of those that would actually care to see those scenes .. versus the masses that seen the final product in theaters and is content with purchasing that final product on blu-ray with a few behind the scenes special features and music video. Plus it'd probably require a TAD bit more work on their end to assemble all of those extra scenes and honestly, they just want your money for the main product.

I want the cut stuff. Still sad it seems like only the early digital download got the full elevator scene. (Though I think it was said there really wasn't much more to it. Shame.)

You know what I also want so bad in addition? Outtakes from the Turtles' actors... with the Turtles rendered. Do you even know how hilarious it would be watching the Turtles themselves messing up their lines, tripping over each other, etc? If they want to make them seem ultimately real that would do it. Hell, I don't care if it costs them more because I would frigging pay for a whole separate disc of just that. All this kind of stuff they could include if they were so inclined to go an extra mile to make the disc awesome.

Imagine how awesome it would be if Peter Jackson was doing TMNT... we'd get NINE HOURS of behind the scenes and extended scenes. Dammit.

2002-ish Peter Jackson, or current-day Peter Jackson? Because I think the last TMNT movie already had more than enough CGI vomit all over it. That dude is well into "No longer giving a sh*t, just here for the paycheck" territory at this point. But, to his credit, he more or less admits it. I can respect that.

I'd watch TMNT made by 80s-90s Peter Jackson.

"The Frighteners" Peter Jackson would've nailed that sh*t.
