How do you see IDW's run ending?

Abrupt cancellation or a hasty wrap-up, brought on by IDW's inability to keep the license for one reason or another. Alternatively a short but slightly more well planned final storyline but with a planned reboot replacing the series right away, though I consider the former scenario a bit more likely with the slow death of the company.

As for any concrete story ideas, I believe the most satisfying thing might be to just cure all the mutants, finding decent worlds for the Triceratons/Utroms to live on and for the turtles to just go live somewhere quite.

It's going out with a whimper.

I figure they'll get cancelled suddenly and have to suddenly wrap up whatever ill advised plot they're getting through in 6 issues max, wherein every single plot point will suddenly get brought up and resolved in rapid succession, probably by way of literally any character other than the turtles themselves. Suddenly cure everyone, suddenly have the Utroms and Triceratons figure everything out forever and leave, have the turtles pontificate on the meaning of family and togetherness on a rooftop after getting back together from their 14th split up, probably over a sunrise/sunset. It won't be satisfying, is all I'm saying. They had plenty of opportunities to go out on a bang, but a whimper is pretty much guaranteed at this point.

It could end after the Armaggon arc, as most villains are pretty much done. However if it goes on longer they'll obviously do something with Shredder ruling Dimension X and Null/Noi'Tar Dar escaping from prison together.

It'll get cancelled, then relaunched with a new vol. 2 #1. That will boost things for a year or so, then it's curtains.

The book is approaching the lead up to issue 150 soon, but I don't think its ending there. We'd probably know by now if we only had like 7 issues left.

Issue 143 comes out this month.

Yeah, and it could have ended after The Armageddon Game. It probably SHOULD have. But they just couldn't resist. There is really no where else to go after Armaggon, and yet I have no doubt that they will still try.

I think they think they'll get to go on forever, and are truly not anywhere close to planning the real ending. They're gonna keep on setting up plot points for the future story they think they have 10 more years to tell, and when the end finally does come, they're gonna somehow be caught offguard. They haven't spent enought time putting the toys away, instead getting more and more out, and Mom's already half way up the stairs. Whatever happens is going to be a hasty shoving into the bin, with few arms snapped off and the lid not quite closed.

Hopefully soon. It ceased being engaging after the Krang War storyline.

I think all the side comics ending first, like TMNT Saturday Morning Adventures, the crossovers, and spinoffs, will make it clear when IDW's time is up.

Naturally they'd keep the main ongoing going on longer than anything else, but if they're still putting out 4+ different TMNT comics every month, it's probably not ending. If they can only "afford" to put out 1 TMNT comic a month, it would be the main series and it would go on to the end.

With a handful of remaining IDW workers fading into their ideologue obscurity doing what their archetype is doing here:

Right around the moment of that abrupt cancellation someone else mentioned above. And then maybe crying on the ground while lamenting the demise of their self-perceived heroism before going and getting a cup of coffee somewhere.

When Sophie Cambell inevitably ascends to godhood and bestows upon us the true fruits of Her ethereal wisdom, thus smiting the non-believers and ushering in a New Era of Our Mother Earth.

(It could happen)

Yeah, she will be sitting there on a golden throne next to her "queen" Kelly Sue DeConnick - behind the throne is a wall covered in $#!( while Matt Fraction is chained at the neck to both of their feet, waiting forever with his head down, eyes averted and a wood clothespin closing his nostrils.

Well whatever happens I don't think the series can go any bigger than the story they did with the Pantheon. The Armaggon thing, maybe, but at at this point they've done time travel and the threat of the family disbanding soo many times and IDK if it'll be that engaging

I refuse to believe the Turtles somehow just live boring lives for the rest of their lives.

Unless we have a story that ends in their deaths as some save-the-world sacrifice, the show must go on.

All they have to do is end it off on a point that can lead things into the last Ronin. As I said elsewhere, I think the IDW main book may end soon, but Saturday morning adventures and last ronin tie-ins might have a few years of life life left in them , though.

IDW is the best version of TMNT

If they make a TMNT reboot movie retelling the shredder battle/origin, I won't buy a ticket.

They're not the same universe, though. Totally different.

All I hope is that it does not get cringe again before it ends. We have had a couple epic events so its going to be hard to get another one. Really...its going to be hard to top a war with all the gods of the universe.

I imagine that it will probably end in the time frame where they opened a portal to the future.
