I guess I have to see them up to scale with the rest of the characters in the actual show.. like how tall/short they are compared to April, Baxter and Shredder and such. But right now, they look almost as short/young as the turtle tots from that flashback 2K3 episode when they were training Casey. They look like kids.

The turtles look youthful here, that's a good thing. They're teenagers after all.
Their voices & appearances have always struck me as late twenties, from what I heard Nick wants to remedy that.

I don't mind the freckles as much as the blue eyes. Isn't orange the opposite of blue? Brown compliments the orange bandana sooo much better.

Same with Raph, a red bandana with green eyes. Gimme a break!

Looking at a color wheel, complementary colors are directly across the from each other. They are:
Purple-Yellow
Red-Green
Orange-Blue
So Mikey and Raph's eye and mask colors are matched quite well.

But aren't those colors considered oddly matched and only paired when you want a visually popping image? Ex: NY Knicks orange/blue?

I don't know, maybe I made that up. I never thought orange/blue or red/green looked good together, only for things were meant to pop...and Christmas.

So, that fat man wearing blue and his workers wearing orange on the side of the highway are actually Santa and his elves during their off-time? Now, I know where to take my kids for pictures. Thanks! ^_^

To be honest I never paid attention to the eye color. I guess its because in the '87 cartoon its just black pupils. You have a point there,Jester. Just as long as good ole Mike isn't made to look like an idiot as he was at times in the '03 cartoon.

I like 2k3 Mike, I hope they fuse some of his character into this new Mikey. As long as he isn't like the 2007 TMNT Mike, I think we'll be good. A healthy balance between OT-2k3-comics would be perfect in an ideal world. I hope Nick primarily looks to movie 1 for Mikey's character. But I have a feeling we'll be getting a lot of skateboarding, etc. from him. I just say this because I think the people at Nick are big OT fans (this is just my opinion, I don't know this for a fact of course) and I'm betting they didn't buy TMNT to not influence a whole new generation of kids. And what started it all? The OT...plus the fact that they have throughout 2011 released a ton of retro merch through stores like Spencer's and Hot Topic all that relate solely to the OT...I think it's kinda obvious.

no not oddly matched, the belong together when you are making a striking color painting, as long as the quantity match.

in a painting red and green can be 50/50, while with purple and yellow, purple should be dominating like 80/20, and blue and orange the blue should dominate 60/40

more or less

I don't know if that would indicate anything,Donnie. Mirage Studios from 2007-2009 sold original cartoon depicted merchandise when I am sure its perferred version was its own comics and also this was during the run of the 2003 cartoon. They are really just picking up where Mirage left off in that department.

Totally. It doesn't even make a decent beat. There are things like this that are done with style and talent, and this was done with neither.
