We have a new trailer

Wise of WB to only reveal a tiny percentage more of what the last trailer did. This doesn't give away plot or anything other than confirm Dastardly.

And I did get a strong Shaphne vibe from that

The origin part with Scooby looks good but I think that's only a small part of the movie, I don't care to see how they implement the HB world into Scooby, it doesn't fit the franchise. Hope it fails.

So the flashback scenes with the gang solving mysteries as kids, is that a nod to "A Pup named Scooby Doo?" Show still canon?

This movie is not canon with the show, it's a new continuity that incorporates all the HB characters in one "cinematic movie verse" that will likely not succeed.

A pup has always been canon with every other Scooby Doo cartoon sans Myster Inc.

In the past the timeline was a bit messy since characters they met as adults showed up in shows when they were still teenagers. But the cartoons have always been connected. Sadly recently they retconned as all the events happening when the gang are teenagers, even the adult year shave been retconned into actually taking place during a summer. So yeah, now Scooby Doo is in comic book time and nothing will ever take place in the adult years. Shittiest retcon ever.

They also showed Dee Dee who was one of the teen angels that discovered Captain Caveman.

This is going to be the new "Sonic's gonna bomb" of this forum isn't it?

Didn't one of the recent Scooby Doo comics from DC make it clear all of the different shows belonged to a multiverse and not a shared timeline?

One year ago we got a movie called Velma and Daphine who told us how velma and Daphine met and long before that there was also a movie on dvd who said the story of how all members of the gang meet and it happend when they were students in schoool Iam talking about these https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scooby...Mystery_Begins
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daphne_%26_Velma

Now this another how they met movie but with a totaly different story it seems. It takes place on another universe. But now the question which ones of the two is the true origins on the tv series and comics? The Mystery Begins or Scoob?

Comics are not canon with the show, also we see how in what's new scooby doo they specifically reference a Pup named scooby and newer movies reference older shows. It's not a multiverse, at least not the shows.

Those comics are too cartoony to be in the Scooby animated verse, despite scooby already having talking sharks in their world.

Different continuities.

The mystery begins and other live action tv film are in continuity with the two live action theatrical films. The Velma/Daphne movie is a new continuity of how those two first met and doesn't fit in that continuity at all, counting it bombed don't expect any other films in that specific continuity. This CG theatrical movie Scoob is a new brand new continuity where they literally live in a world with other HB characters.

A universe doesn't have to be full of inaccuracies to count seperatly from others. Some timelines can have the exact same history up until a specific point of divergence.

So if something is more cartoonish than something that you have admitted is already unrealistic, it somehow doesn't count? That makes zero sense to me, but you do you. The comic explanation for divergent timelines sounds much more plausible than "it all happened in an ever regressive and contradictory timeline"

Trust me I like to place comic books into real continuities as much as I can, but some of them just go out there to make themselves non-canon. The comics have scooby literally fight the guys of darkseid and I know we've seen Batman since the early days in Scooby but they were with more human villains, it's only recent that we've seen other parts of the DCU in it, but seeing Scooby fight Justice League opponents in the comics is just ridiculous, not to mention the stories are fairly bad.

Divergent timelines to explain little inconsistencies? That's just lazy writing and creativity bankruptcy. It's like wanting every Power Rangers season to be a separate canon to deal with the differences which wasn't that the idea of one of the writers? Instead of actually trying to make them fit.

In fact we have a timeline that works now even if I personally dislike it, Scooby takes place in comic book time and the characters will never age, all shows have happened but now retconned as teenagers instead of having some events happening as adults, which sucks but whatever. To say that each show is different is just slothful.

Scooby Doo is like the first version of Simpsons where it’s run almost continuously with new series and this has been going since the late 60’s. It blows my mind Scooby Doo has remained relevant for over 50 years.

The difference between the two of those is Scooby Doo was rested for a while, whilst the Simpsons has went uninterrupted.

In some ways, SD has something in common with Doctor Who

For some reason, Dick Dastardly wants Scooby to join his side.

I still don't know if I will see it because of the voice-acting changes.

That's the main reason I won't support it and it just doesn't look good. Mystery Inc was the last scooby anything I watched and it was perfect
