Good questions, Venom. It's some food for speculation. That model sheet makes it look like there was a specific spot for the Neutrino Star Cruiser, which the turtles kept until the episode, "Pizza By the Shred."

Yeah I agree I like the OT lair the best. It reminds me of a house underground with tunnels, it just looks warm and cozy. Now in the 1st movie that place was trashed! But for good reason because come on...in real life that is probably how there lair would look. I would like to see someone make a custom sewer playset I think it would be awesome!

So has someone made an actual layout drawing of it? Also what about the other lairs?

Thanks for the extra pics, Yuffie! It's good to see the mysterious weapons room in more detail!

There was one on page 2, but the image is gone. There is still the blurry scan of the map provided by Playmates back in the '90's.

Anyone who wants to see clearly detailed and definitive break-downs of the lair in the Old Toon can see them in this 8-page PDF compiled by original series writer and story editor, Francis Moss:
"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles model pack: background art" http://www.cartoonscripts.com/cartoo...r.htm#tmnt_art Download is only 99 cents (WOW!) but, you have to make sure you have time to download it within four hours after paying.

In a word: YES.
In another word: ABSOLUTELY. In a paragraph: Best dollar I ever spent through PayPal. Once you pay, you should be sent an email with a download link that is open for four hours. If you have any trouble, Francis Moss should be happy to work out the difficulties with you. I was one of the first to download, so I actually did have some trouble, but he worked with me to make sure it got done right.

I figured I'd revive this thread to share a very unique look at the good ol' Sewer Lair courtesy of one of the vintage Japanese publications I just received in the mail today:
Sneak Peak at the Secret Sewer Lair! by oldmanwinters, on Flickr It provides some good points of reference for the training room, Splinter's room, and the garage, as well as the storm drain exit! There are some obvious errors, though, most notably the entrances to the turtles' individual rooms. There is no weapons room connecting the training area to the main living room on this layout. Also, I think Donatello's Lab is behind his room, rather than alongside of it as suggested by this illustration.

That is a really cool find, dude! I just wish we could translate that darn thing! There was talk on the Technodrome thread about having one of our number here drawing a map of it or a 3D model. It would be great if the same could possibly be done for the lair!

The lair in the OT sure looked quite cozy and would feel right at home. The 2K3 series looked way too high tech despite alien technology trying to explain it. One security measure Donny would have implemented would be an alarm system that would go off if anybody not carrying a turtle-comm would come too close.

Oldmanwinters - wow! This thread is made of win.
Thanks for compiling all these great screenshots & info. I'd love it if someone made a 3D model of the OT Lair (which I agree is the coziest and most well-decorated of all the versions...I'd totally live in it, lol), preferably a real model scaled to size of the TMNT action figures, similar to what was shown in that Japanese scan. Now THAT would be awesome!

Hello, everybody,
So I recently had an idea to replicate the sewer liar from the OT, and I stumbled upon this forum and have been reading everybody's posts for the last few days. This is perfect, because you all had the exact same idea as me, and you guys have pretty much plotted out the whole lair with awesome blueprints and screenshots to back them. While reading what everybody said, I realized that the blueprint posted by oldmanwinters (http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a56...modelsheet.jpg) is basically the answer to almost all of our questions, IF it were legible, as you have all discussed. This has been KILLING me for the past few days, so I finally decided to create an account and ask you guys and gals if anybody might be able to track down where this came from, or even just a copy that is more legible. I don't mean to beat a dead horse, but I'm dying to see that blueprint in greater detail. It has to be the answer, because it explains how Don's lab is connected to the garage, which I found evidence of in the 8-page PDF that was for sale for 99 cents (which I totally bought, thanks for the link!). And plus, it contains the weapons room, so obviously that blueprint is probably the most accurate, I'm assuming. Thanks for reading this. I'm dying to get my hands on a copy of that paper. Sincerely, Hunter |

The lair from the Fred Wolf cartoon's my favorite; it just has a nice, homey feel. The lair from the 1990 film is a close second.
