Time if flying. All the kids who watched this show are now in College. Crazy to think about.

One day you'll flip to the 'oldies' station on the radio and hear songs that were brand new when you were a kid. It happens to us all!

I remember when this show first came out I was loving it, looking forward to each episode coming out. It still holds up well today, I must rewatch the 2012 show at some point again soon.

It's actually strange in retrospect how much this show "played things safe" in terms of TMNT lore, before Nick went absolutely crazy and let the new directors/writers do whatever they wanted with Rise, Mutant Mayhem even IDW with Jennika, etc.
Sure this show made some obvious changes (April/Casey being teens, the Kraang being a collective), etc. but every new TMNT universe makes some changes, and otherwise things felt pretty close to how they should be. It's almost like Nick knew their first TMNT series couldn't be that far off-base but then they just stopped caring as they made one new series after another straying too far from what TMNT should be. |

To put this into contrast this same thread could've been made about the Fred Wolf show in this very forum in the year 2003 with the title "The OT ended 7 years ago.". The OT felt ancient in 2003 and it was only 7 years after it ended, the 2012 show is just as ancient now as the OT was back then.
The 2012 show first came out 12 years ago, literally the little kids who watched it are now either in college or working. The kids who grew up with the 2003 show are now in their 30s. And of course the kids who grew up with the FW are now boomers who complain about the young generations and liberals just look at this forum |
