Beavis & Butthead Paramount + revival movie - Page 3

So 8 episodes are out already. Is anybody watching?

I watched the first one, which they put up for free on Youtube. I enjoyed it. Moreso than the recent movie, actually.

I've always loved Beavis & Butthead Do America, but found the show itself to be sort of weak, in comparison to King of the Hill. Surprisingly, this actually seemed like a step-up from the old version of the show, imo.

I'd watch more, but I'm not interested in another streaming service right now.

If there was a way to sign up for Paramount+ and make it that my money only goes to certain shows/teams, then I would. But I in no way could condone giving them even $0.01 if it means it somehow benefits Kurtzman. Sorry, Mike Judge.

So how do they explain how that teacher is in it but unaged?

The show basically treat Do the Universe as non-canon. Van Driesen and Tom Anderson both remain the same age, Beavis and Butt-head are more familiar with the commonalities of the 2020's, the school does not make a big deal about them having been missing for 20+ years and they still seem to live with Beavis' mom despite the movie explaining that she moved away a long time ago.

Maybe some other episodes later on will explain any of this but out the first six episodes, it's pretty clear that they treat the timeline as if it's floating, like in the Simpsons.

Aw, that's lame. And I was looking to their continued "fish out of water" perspective on many new things in the 2020s. In fact, I've been operating on the assumption that was like 90% of the pitch for the new show.

Though on the one hand... the 2011 season's state of canon would seem to be fine, in this case.

I saw all of the new ones. These are great! Some parts, hysterical. This is a very smooth "update."

The latest episode, 10, definitely cements that "Do the Universe" happened. The alternate/alien Beavis and Butthead from that movie show up and show us a whole episode with the alternate middle-aged Beavis and Butthead in 2022 that never skipped forward 20 years.

The season finale just hit. "Spiritual Journey." Kind of a miss, but just about every episode this season has had me howling at least a little.
