Cool find in my parents attic
So long story short: my parents are selling their house and are moving to a smaller apartment. While they were cleaning up the attic they found some old toys I had when I was a kid. Mostly baby-things, so nothing special... UNTIL I opened up a box... There it was, long forgotten by me: The Teenage Mutant HERO Turtles 3D Board Game!
I had completely forgotten I ever had this game and when I held it in my hands I was instantly sent back in time to 1993(-ish). I felt like a 7 year old again and the feeling was magical. Funny thing is that I never actually played the game like it's supposed to, I just played with it like a playset and made up stories of the Turtles fighting Shredder and his minions in the sewers. The playboard looks really cool, so I'll post some pics for you guys: The cover of the box: The box opens like a suitcase (fun for on the road) and the right part is where the Turtles start the game in the sewers: The other part is supposed to be Shredders lair: The Turtles at the start of the game: I don't know if a lot of you guys also own the game? I don't know if it was ever released in the US? Anyways, wanted to share this with you guys as it hit me right in the nostalgia-feels! |

Cool indeed! I've never seen that before. Definitely a UK exclusive. I like the character art, thanks for sharing.

It's definitely a cool piece to have in your collection... You can use it as a playset AND use it as a board game to play with friends! Double fun! |

I had this! It was a pretty piss-poor board game (although not as bad as the uk TMHT Power Game), but I always had fun using it as a playset.

Ha, good timing, I just bought the UK version off ebay this month. I really like the layout. And it's interesting that Shredder can "win" and end the game prematurely. Hopefully, one day I can play it with somebody.
You can read more about it at boardgamegeek.com, which even has pictures of the instructions. https://boardgamegeek.com/image/3074...pel?size=large

Very cool. The board design is unique, so I wonder how it's actually played.

It is quite a unique board design, you're right about that... It's also fun that it closes like a suitcase so you can easily take it with you to a slumber party, lol! It even has a handle! |

One thing I think would be difficult in setup is the placement of the manhole covers without seeing the other side. The Splinter and pizza manholes are basically powerups while the other manholes present an additional challenge. I think it's funny that April O'Neil functions as dead weight in this game, and can be passed off to other players to try and impede their progress.

That is frigging awesome, I would have loved the design of that so much as a kid. Definitely adding to eBay watch list for future consideration.

I was really happy to buy a set from a U.S. seller to save on shipping costs. And I was stunned that my set looked near-mint condition, as none of the plastic bags holding the pieces had even been opened. Definitely one of my prouder purchases.
Another neat thing I've noticed about this game set watching auctions over the years is that Shredder's balls () tend to be different colors (green, blue, orange, etc.) depending on the set. On the box, they suggest ball set would be multi-colored, but I've never seen that variant if it exists. A couple of Youtube videos: From the Drome's own squer!

That's really awesome. My only question is what were you doing in the attic? I though all of us nerds only resided in the basement. LOL!

Mine is also in a pretty good condition (and more importantly: 100% complete!) considering the playing time by 7-year old me! |
