Haha, the "Engagement Ring," it ain't! Looks great, Powder! 4Kids-era fan art has gone into hibernation these past few years!

Thanks all, here's another new one parodying the infamous "Loss" comic.

Beautiful. Simply beautiful.
And of course, it looks so much better than the original in so many ways. I think the biggest one being that the characters weren't literally pieced together.

Great work, man! The Out of the Shadows poster is VERY cool! I'd love to see your take on the Barron/Henson TMNT.

What do you mean "pieced together"? Comparing this version to the original posted above, I don't get what you mean.

Once CAD started getting really popular, the artist Tim Buckley started literally started to assemble the characters together. He literally started dragging and dropping the parts of the characters together to make the process "easier".
Spoiler:
Doesn't help that the series and the author is considered part of the scum at the bottom of the webcomic barrel. Which is a big part of why Loss.jpg is such a big deal, especially in the matter of how Buckley tried to explain the decision for the miscarriage out of the blue from the story (which was about gaming). And it was a sh*t explanation.

There could be a five-page essay about everything wrong with loss.jpg, but there's a joy in the memes. Especially as Powder did here - and frankly, fits better with the world of TMNT than Loss did with CAD.
Not to mention it looks a lot better too... It's this layout that's the biggest offender, Powder has at least made it look good with more developed backgrounds and shadows - especially in the last panel.

Haven't updated this thread in quite some time, damn.
I'm also working on a 6 page comic with Dr. Spengler for Andrew Modeen/Jim Lawson's TMNT: Origin.

Geez Powder, you're such a diverse artist. Love how well you can replicate the 2003 and 1987 stlye so well.

Cool stuff Powder. I dig the Usagi Yojimbo pic, and the Eastman & Laird (?) comic poses in the first picture. And of course, the Rick & Morty crossover into the OT was an awesome idea.
Good stuff man.

Amazing art as always Powder.
You’re a fantastic artist. Can’t wait to read your comic, I’m sure it’ll be great. |
