Thanks to modern day technology, Leonardo is made aware of the birth of his daughter, seconds after it happened.

But is it really all that wise on Konami's part for letting the news be known that soon?

So why was it a bad idea to send over a picture of Leo's newly born baby daughter to him?

Leave it to Tsunami to put in the details on what made it such a mistake to make.

I guess, I don't have to explain what I was going for.

It's my take on the iconic cover for the very first issue of the Mirage series TMNT comic, but I also referenced the current "White mask Turtles" comic from the ongoing IDW comic book series. In the turtles' actual positions.

"Creatures of the Night" is the title of one of the seminal albums by the Heavy Metal band Kiss, which also has the blue, black and purple color lay out. And is one of my personal favorite Heavy Metal albums.

While with Leo, the baby bash was crashed by Kraang Subprime, who is the very embodiment of an uninvited guest, back at base, the baby girl herself is making quite an impression on her uncles.

I had Casey Jones mention it earlier in the story, villains tend to make boring, lengthy ego-filled speeches.

But when Kraang Subprime gets down to business, he doesn't hold back.

In case you forgot, Yarruhk is basically Baxter Stockman's reincarnation and if anybody has a score to settle with Kraang Subprime, it's her.

So it's Yarruhk against Kraang Subprime, that same Kraang Subprime who has the brute mechanical strength to lift up a truck and trailer with one hand. How does Yarruhk envision defeating him?

Well, as you might recall, Yarruhk received Baxter Stockman's actual eyes, so it would allow her access to Kraang tech via Retinal scan. Kraang tech which also includes Kraang Subprime's body.

So what was Baxter Stockman's plan with spiking Kraang Subprime's Irma suit with all that progressive mutagen?

Well, here's the answer.

Page 225, another milestone, and I knew I had to do this one in color. Kraang Subprime turned out exceptionally well in both panels.

I think I'm hitting a new stride here in the development of the story. It's quite exciting.

Kraang Subprime is no longer an Utrom and without the aid of the robot body is far less a threat.

But that doesn't mean she's not dangerous...

And so the prophecy of Tsunami dying young comes true.

The Tanaka triplets have been reduced to just two.

In case you've forgotten, Yarruhk can change into a snake, something none of the other Karai clones can do.

For Kraang Subprime that ability comes as a nasty surprise.

Well, seeing as what happened in the last chapter, I knew I had to have Tsunami on the cover of this new chapter.

I initially had something among the lines of "Batman, death in the family" in mind, but it would be too bloody. Instead, I went for a dynamic drawing of Tsunami leaping from rooftop to rooftop, as that would showcase what kind of character she was.

I winged it here, just drew and what you see here is my first attempt, I didn't bother trying again, it was good the way it came out.

I was thinking of doing it full color, but in keeping with what just happened, decided to go with gray scale instead.

And so Tsunami dies.

But not before finally acting on the mad crush she had on Leo for pretty much the entire duration of this story.

With having a member of his team dead, Leo is on the verge of a major freak out, certainly since apparently he was the only one in the world oblivious to Tsunami's crush on him.

And yet Karai apparently knew.

So with a death on his team, Leo needs to make a difficult decision, and it isn't the one he wanted to make, but his arm is being twisted here.

So in the end, he made a better decision.

With funeral arrangements made, it's time for Leonardo to get on with other, much more delightful changes into his life.

But back in the ruins of the Second time About shop, trouble is brewing...


Yeah, the joke of stuffing a sock in it, is a salute to that "Legend of Korra" episode where Bolin stuffs a sock into Zaheer's mouth.

While the Turtles plan the funeral for Tsunami, back at the ruins of the "Second time about" shop, Kuro comes across the severed head of Kraang Subprime's robot body.

As Rad Brad told Mikey, there is little love lost between Kraang Subprime and Kuro. This flashback shows why.

Here's more of Kuro's backstory. This time explaining why his skin is scarred all over.

I also was inspired by that famous scene in Dragon Ball Z's "Android saga" when Vegeta faces off against Android 19 and he goes "So tell me, does a machine like you ever experience FEAR?!"

Yes, in the case of Kraang Subprime's robot body, that one DOES experience fear.

With news of Kraang Subprime being no more, (Well, in one way or another…) Kuro decides to pounce on this golden opportunity.

Meanwhile, with our heroes, Mikey finds out that the helicopter that Donnie rigged up to take the entire team to Northampton is quite a lot bigger than he thought.

For the propeller heads among us, this is a Boeing Vertol CH-46 Sea Knight.

Time for Mikey to name the newest mode of transport for the team.

But Angel has her doubts about Leo's sanity.

Raph takes a good look at Leo and makes a judgement on the latter's capability to lead the team.

This is also the first time I drew Leo and Karai's little family together. Leo has something to fight for, and Raph recognizes that fact.


I wanted a simple and direct drawing of Kuro as the title page for the new chapter. But I drew it and colored it inverted, so the black portions were originally white, and the red portions were originally blue.

But it does what I wanted it to do. It's just so classic Shredder.
