I could see Eliza pulling it off, but she's just like Chris, too pretty for it. April was a computer tech. Last I checked, not many comp techs looked like her lol. Casey doesn't have to be ugly, but he does look like he has taken many punches over the years. Granted, they could do that with the proper make up, so if they could do that, Chris might be able to pull it off

Nor do I want to see Eliza Dushku as April. As much as I liked her as Faith, she's a terrible actress -- the horrible "Dollhouse" pretty much proved that Faith is the only role Eliza can play even remotely convincingly. I can do without April Lehane thank you very much.

I love Allie Mack, but I just don't see her as April. I was thinking maaaybe Anna Torv (Olivia Dunham on "Fringe") or Ari Graynor (who plays her sister on that show). Like Judith Hoag, I kinda want the next April to have freckles.

I remember when this interview first came out response seemed more positive...

Anyways my opinion is already in the first post but I think you guys are being too harsh.

SMG would have been a perfect April IMO, if it wasn't for her age I would have loved to see her play April.

Chris Evans could have pulled off Casey pretty good as well, not as good as SMG but I wouldn't be angry if it happened.

At first to me Sarah seems like a perfect April, however after I looked how old she was she is not that young anymore.. She'd be 34 by the time the movie comes out (IF it comes out in 2011). And if it indeed ended up being a trilogy( of films (like Laird hopes) she'd be nearly 40 by the time the third one came out (counting they came out only 2 years apart). And while you could say she looks younger, I looked up some recent pictures and she is starting to look older. She's also pregnant but she would have had the baby before shooting would begin. So yeah I'm not so sure she'd be great for the role anymore, she seems too old. In comparison Judith Hoag was in her early 20s (~20) when she played April. And so was Paige Turco.

Chris Evans is around the same age as Elias Koteas was which is a good age for casey. If he grew his hair a bit he could pull it off, however I still don't like him since he'd still look too much like a "pretty boy" to actually be Casey, who has to be someone who looks more "rougher".

Bad idea. April should be hot, not average. Sarah is a little on the average side and I can't take Chris Evans serious as a Casey Jones.

I know it won't happen, but Collin Ferrel would be a really good Casey Jones.

If only one actor from TMNT were to reprise their role for use in a live-action movie, it should be Zhang Ziyi as Karai.

I also think Elisha Cuthbert would make a good April. As for Casey Ive never really thought of it. Seriously though you guys are way too picky. Back in the day I bet none of you put so much emphasis on who played the human characters, granted I never thought the original April looked quite right (I liked Paige better) but it didnt bother me that much.

So what if shes in her early 30s? She doesnt look old and besides who ever said April had to be some young college-graduate type girl that was in thier 20s?

Original Toon April was obviously an older woman and had worked for Channel 6 news for sometime before she met the turtles. Even the two Aprils from the Live-Action movies were older women.

As far as her weight, shes not freakishly skinny like alot of celebrities are plus she will have proabably gained a few "baby fat" pounds after she has her baby.

I completely agree with you. I love Zhang Ziyi and she had just the right presence to voice Karai in the 2007 movie. I would love to see her do a live action version of Karai; she'd be perfect. The only issue I see with her is that if she where to actually play Karai, I would want her to occassionally have some dialogue in Japanese, and since she is Chinese, I doubt she would know any in order to have any.

As for April and Casey? Get a good make up artist and have Elias Koteas reprise his roll dammit!!

Nah, but seriously as long as the actor playing him can bring Casey Jones to life for me, and make me believe he is a vigilante and some 'tude and not some goofball idiot, I'll like him. But they have to depict him as a badass, not a dumbass!

As for April, if she was still young enough, I would have loved to see Renee O'Connor play April. She would have done a great job in my oppinion. She played Gabrielle on Xena Warrior Princess and she just had this great presence. However I think the Renee O'Connor is in her mid or late 30's now so she obviously can't do it.

Who ever plays April should be attractive but not cover girl model beautiful.

I totally agree with Allison Mack. She has a sweet personality and is kinda cute, BUT she looks a little too young even though she is 27 years old. Funny how Judith Hoag looked mad old in the 1990 movie when she was barely 21.
