Why is it that the lone female character just about always trumps most every other fighter on the roster? I don't get it... is flexibility and quick, high kicks the key to effective martial arts? Even on Tournament Fighters for Genesis, April's range on her kicks could keep just about everybody else at bay. Her visual inspiration, Blaze Fielding, was considering more effective than her bigger, stronger male counterparts in The Streets of Rage series.

And then there's Chun-Li, the strongest woman in the world... yadda yadda yadda

I think I'm at an impasse as Mikey...take on 2 mutants and out run the Giant Mouser....right.

That's the sewer level where you have to keep moving towards the screen at certain intervals, right?

Move left and right, jump a lot, smash boxes to find health or invincibility powerups!

My luck is I find speed and increased hit strength....or the monsters find the invincibility or health recovery.

I actually have been able at some points to kill 1 of the mutants before the first chain link barrier goes down ...if I can very my attack enough for him to not BLOCK EVERYTHING! Maybe I need to block more...never do, and if I try I tend to be picked up and thrown.

Probably right. I felt like the Powerstone games struck a decent balance. There were about 4 playable females by the 2nd game, but none of them could routinely trump the elite males... outside of Ayame in the first game... Oy.

Soul Caliber is pretty decent with the gender balance as well... or at least the first two games are (the only ones I've played).

Heh, is this from the Foot Soldier's storyline? That was probably my favorite one to play through. I felt like an evil underdog that you just had to root for. When a lackey can rise to the top of the Foot Clan's leadership, taking out all of Shredder's enemies and Shredder himself... if just strikes me as the American way!

Also screw Oroku Saki and his 1,000 Fist Punch. Do any other characters have as devastating attack...WITHOUT CHARGING THE ATTACK BAR!
