Never.

So it sounds to me like you're crying over nothing. Get over it and go watch a Fred Wolf dvd with your Panda Kahn toy.
Those superhero knock-offs and Cousin Sid were present in 2k3.

On topic, here's my list of Mirage mutants:

* The TMNT and Splinter
* Leatherhead
* Terrorpin
* Bloodsucker
* Radical and Complete Carnage
* Dale Evans McGillicutty
* The giant Arthropods from "Wrong Turn"
* Shark-Worm Shredder

As a kid, the mutants and mutations were one of the cool things about the show. Weird stuff that turns people into monsters? Awesome! It's like wanting to catch the shape shift scene from the Wolf Man, it's weird, neat, and a little scary, plus you get these crazy looking characters, and it's easy to imagine, like, hey what animal would you be mashed up with? And yes, it sold toys.

The Mirage comics started with an weird idea, but the mutatgen was more a plot device than an excuse to build more characters. They were into taking the comic whatever direction suited them. Space travel epic? Slow paced character study in Northhamption? Untouchables homage? Superhero Homage? It was experimental, what you expect in indy comics.

Which is the point, one was an independent comic geared toward mostly 14+ boys and males into geek culture, the other toward 8-12 year old boys into ninjas and monsters. Apples and oranges.

Dude, I criticized your choice of Panda Kahn (and mainly just Panda Kahn for being useless), because it was relevant to the discussion. Even if what I said had a ridiculing tone, it wasn't a personal attack.
You can't expect people being super-PC in a discussion, especially if you throw around thoughts like "yeah, that thing you like is useless" without any explanation.
