According to Pixel Dan, the sculptor that made the coveted Mondo TMNT figures is responsible for the Playmates versions. I knew they looked familiar!

Considering that NECA isn't reissuing their original comic book figures, the Playmates x Stranger Things sets fill in the void rather nicely. Of course, it's a larger scale.

Okay, great, I just wanted to make sure there were no repeats. Thanks for the clarification!

Alright, so I have all of these in hand now. I'm totally unfamiliar with Stranger Things, so I won't say anything regarding those... but I gotta say, I absolutely love the sculpts on the TMNT. They're actually fantastic figures (for the most part) and I'm glad to have them in my collection. HOWEVER... there's one glaring issue. I don't mind the massive part re-use between the 4 of them, that's fine... but the heads shouldn't have been the only unique parts. They totally should have had unique hands, too. Donatello is the ONLY one I don't have trouble having him hold his weapon. Leo, Raph, and Mike all have hands that don't grip the weapons tightly enough, especially their left hands. I really wish Playmates could have gone just a tiny bit further and given each of the four brothers their own unique hands specifically made to hold their signature weapons.
