Watching this movie again, I guess it’s my 7th time? It’s that good and such a visual feast for the eyes.

Came across a deleted scene where Donnie is asking Casey about his existence in the future, though he starts going on about what sort of "Nobel Prizes" and Other awards he has in the future. Casey then says "You were the smartest guy I ever knew." Donnie at first starts to crow about this, but then he pauses when he realizes what Casey had just said. So he says "Wait..."were" as in past tense...do I die?"
And both Leo and Casey look at one another uncomfortably. |

Finally saw this last night. In keeping my thumb on the pulse of TMNT even during the period that I was checked out, I gathered that this was well liked by most people. I’m surprised this didn’t get a little more buzz here. Oh well.
Random thoughts: - Intro scene was crazy - Eerie tone throughout. Very different from the show. - Casey was great. - Did anyone else think KrangRaph looked a lot like Slash? - They nailed the big emotional moment. Even the kind of Deus ex Machina aspect of Leo’s rescue felt earned and was set up earlier in the script. - I normally have a bunch of autistic nitpicks over time travel stories, but thankfully they did it the way I prefer. They pulled no punches there. Everyone Casey ever knew died. Leo and Mikey were able to save his life and give him a chance in the timeline we’ve come to know. None of that “he’s fading from the picture!” nonsense. - Speaking of that stupid trope, I loved their take on it where they recreated the picture to include Casey. - I know Rise got a lot of hate, but I can’t help but feel like it was destined to be axed no later than 2022 and Nickelodeon only wanted a little placeholder around while made their crappy Seth Rogen movie. |

Btw, what were your thoughts on Mutant Mayhem as I don't think you ever mentioned them? |

It was… cute. I didn’t HATE it, but it was too kiddy even for me. And I like stuff like the Half-Shell Heroes cartoon lol
The characterizations weren’t bad, but the removal of Hamato Yoshi from the story is a nonstarter for me. I’m no Mirage purist, but if there’s no Hamato/Oroku feud as the backbone of your story, you’re just too far off base. Some of the celebrity voices were fun. Some lesser known mutants got to shine. My wife really liked it and my 2 year old enjoys Tales, so there’s that. I don’t hate it enough to rag on it, but it is only beaten by Out of the Shadows for the title of worst TMNT movie. |

At least Rise had some decent episodes that I did like even though I wasn't a big fan of most of the episodes. The movie had it's moments too, I did like Krang in this movie. I would still rather take the Rise series or movie any day over Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or Mutant Mayhem. Actually the only thing I even liked about Tales is Danny Trejo doing the voice for Mustang Sally. Donnie's voice in Mutant Mayhem still bothers me
