I was playing the gacha mobile game Street Fighter Duel at midnight PST when the switchover to the next day's dailies/events happens and suddenly....

It's not only TMNT, any boomer property from the 80s/90s gets licensed out for cheap. Companies prefer to licesne as much as possible which is why you see characters everywhere. They now see the benefit of crossovers they used to be so adamant about before and yes it's tiring to see all the overexposure.

Same thing happened to merchandise, they license stuff for cheap now and no longer give out exclusive global rights, so if you make a TMNT made out of wood you can, if the scale you are going to do is different you can ask or the rights, if your TMNT is a zombie version then they can license it out to you as well etc.
As long as it continues to make money it'll continue to be done, we've been living in a geek culture is cool thing since the first avengers so about 10 years so I'm guessing this trend will die out by the end of the decade.

I don't mind it, but SF Duel is one of those games that pretty much plays itself. It's boring.

stay away from gacha games my friends... not only is gambling with your money not good but you don't know what regret feels like until the game you spent hundreds or even thousands on shuts down after a few years. imagine what else you could have done with that money.

The word "boomer" on its own doesn't specify "Baby Boomers" anymore, but has changed to just mean anyone/anything that's old. Similarly, "zoomer" is a word to refer to anyone/anything that's young and new/recent (though like "boomer", is also often used in a pejorative manner).
