I think this was one of the series best episodes. A great change of pace from the Kraang.
The characterization of Don and April was phenomenal. |

I agree. It feels good to have an episode like like this. I'm a fan of the OT mad scientist episodes so this was a real throw back in that sense, but also a lot more mature what with the torture of Monkey Brains. And we need more April in this show, and this episode gave us more of her personality.

Agreed. Some of the best TMNT stories come from them facing normal humans, or gangsters or thugs, or whatever.
Granted this episode did have a mutant, but he wasn't the main enemy so its not in the same way. On that note did anyone wonder why the monkey couldn't speak? |

Maybe it was because since the mutagen that mutated Rockwell was tampered with, it caused some side affects for him, which could explain why he couldn't talk.

This was BY FAR the best episode, in my opinion. The last two Donnie-centric episodes have been spoiling me, and everything about this ep was spectacular.
This "new" Donatello is f*cking phenomenal. My fav Turtle is finally getting some well deserved development... |

Holy smokes, this episode totally made up for the epic fail of last week. Even the weirdness between Don and April was handled well and came off pretty cute rather than just creepy or stupid. Totally loved seeing Don finally able to hold his own (though, without his bo...of course) and his brothers actually, you know, recognize it. The interactions between all 4 turtles finally felt natural too. I'm also starting to confirm my belief that Raph isn't really that huge a fan of April, he never really seems to pay a whole lot of attention to her until one of his brother's speaks up.
Anyway, was feeling pretty let down last week and pretty annoyed with all the turtles as a whole, but this episode really captured them all spot on. Definitely hope to see more like this in the future (though with a little less April crushing).

I'm not usually a fan of monkeys on screen, but I was getting a creepy 'Toy Story 3' cymbal monkey vibe from his eyes which is infinitely more fun than monkey puns (at least the characters acknowledge they are terrible puns!).
Not the best episode, not the worst. I agree what someone said before about it being more enjoyable to see them fight humans (for now, anyway) but the showdown with Falco was a bit lack luster - wasn't sure what was happening at first with the blue shadows. Don is great, as usual. Although the dialogue is natural, it seems that whenever there is focus on one turtle the usual way to split up some of the time for the others is to have them "gather round" and make a bunch of one liners. That said, they are funny one-liners. |

I love this episode!
I am a big admirer of planet of the apes movies and comics, so this psychic monkey experiment strike it home with me... found it exciting to see the guys sparring with one another and funny how michelangelo ditched splinters attacks and ate the peparoni on the floor..the original theme from the game boy game fall of the foot clan as the t fones ringtone?INCREDIBLE!hahaha.. what else?well, I found it funny as mike wouldn't pause his video game when dinner was there, yet I dont like his solution..I feel I often am in this situation myself with computers, tv and whatnot and would have found it sweet if spliner or the guys themselves had decided to pause one thing and do just one thing at a time concentrated...maybe thisll be some slice of lesson in the future if mike keeps on eating like that without looking...oh, splinters lesson and especially the way he worded it was really beautiful I think!!find the space in between the thoughts and start living in there(or something LIKE that)...what majestic and yet simple truth..I love splinter in this version!!all the fight scenes were again awesome to witnesss and stay mucho fun re-watching and re-re-watching.the scene with april and donnie entering the lab gave a nice creepy vibe and overall donatellos behaviour about april is so much stuff to laugh tohahahaa..for example just the way he focused on lowering his voice when april interrupted his 'hang out with april-plan-scene' uh hi-h--hi-HI APRIL...hahahahaha great job rob paulson!...and the guys laughing at leo after making sure hes allright?hahahahaha SOOO GOOD!!thats all I remember at the moment but it was just great fun again!cant wait to re-watch it for the third time today!booyakashaaaa!! |

Pretty decent episode this week for sure. I really liked it and the premise behind it. The lesson Splinter gave was good as well as his willingness to train April. Her gift wasn't as annoying as I thought it would be, and I like how they used kunoichi and actually gave the pronunciation. I always was pronouncing it as ku-no-ee-chee. I guess the i is silent. I loved Don in this ep and even his time with April wasn't bad at all. I like how she's getting more development and hope to see it in the future.
My fave quotes: Splinter: If you think, you lose sight of what is. Leo: Okay, Falco, we've had enough of your-- Raph: Don't say monkeying around. Leo: I wasn't going to! Falco: Yes, you were. Mikey: Whoa. It's like he's psychic. Don: He IS psychic, shell brain. That's what he said. Mikey: Oh, I tuned out during his whole 'I'm evil, blah, blah, blah' speech. Don: Gentleman and lady, I give you the T-Phone. Mikey: Hey, I'm in charge of naming things around here. I would have called it the T-Phone. Don: I DID call it the T-Phone. Mikey (in whiny voice): Yeah, but I wanted to call it the T-Phone. Well, that's my review. See you next Saturday. I definitely can't wait for the next episode for sure.

I think this episode had the strongest plot of all the episodes so far. Usually we're just shown the mutant right away and we get some Kraang fights, this episode had a mystery around it.
But as always, its the Turtles who make the show. This show really is worth watching simply for the interactions of the Turtles, Splinter and April themselves. |

Did Falco's fighting style remind anyone else of Agent Bishop?

I haven't watched the 4Kids series in a long time, so I wouldn't know.

I thought that also. Except bishop had an enhanced body not mind. I still hope bishop shows up at some point.
