Love the concept here. A little concerned about the haphazard-ness of the Kickstarter campaign. No preview or concept pages provided. No timeline, just "it will take a lot of time." Hmmm.

It's really badly worded but I believe the "it will take a long time" is related to the History of Varner Studios book, not the TMNT sketchbook. If you look on the rewards page it says delivery April 2022 with any leftovers sold at SDCC.

Isn't this similar to a book a fan released months ago?

Not really. This is basically a giant collection of concept art, featuring fresh new scans directly sourced from the studio responsible. The other book, I assume you're referring to Rad Plastic, spanned a wider variety of developmental material, from blueprints, to test shots, prototype sculpts, unreleased goods, etc.

I DM'd the Varner Instagram account in early September, and I first learned about the plans for a TMNT sketchbook then. They actually said the book had been recently completed with plans to have it out by Christmas. So I imagine it's pretty far along, and they've decided to keep the window open for pre-orders until the end of the year. I'll definitely be pre-ordering a copy. Varner definitely has a long history of getting stuff done at high quality!

I'm very much looking forward to a humongous collection of high-quality pages of art. I hope it will also include little nuggets of info from the creative process as well!

Yes, I was referring to Rad Plastic. Thank you for the clarification.
