And here's a similar email by EE:

https://toynewsi.com/1-57593

Dear Valued EE Customers,

I want to update you on the current environment (specifically related to new tariff policy) and the impact it is having on our business and our pricing.

Since February, the Entertainment Earth team has been working as hard as possible with our vendor partners and internally to absorb as much cost impact as possible. Unfortunately, we cannot absorb all of the cost increases/tariffs, particularly on products coming from China. Additionally, the current situation is preventing many retailers (ourselves included) from importing product from China which will impact timing of product receipt.

A few things to know:

You will be receiving information in the coming days on price increases and/or delays based on cost increases from vendors and/or tariffs.
To protect you and your purchases, you will be able to adjust your orders without penalty, as we understand the new costs may impact your ability/desire for these products.

If the environment changes and we have the opportunity to reduce prices, we have every intention to do so based on positive changes in the cost structure of toys. Our goal is to support you in building and growing your collections.

Entertainment Earth was built by fans with the singular purpose of bringing pop culture joy to all of you. As fans and collectors ourselves, it truly pains us both personally and professionally not to be able to deliver amazing collector products from so many terrific partners at prices that meet your (and our) expectations.

Please know that we continue to advocate for improved pricing from all possible partners, that we continue to “tighten our belt” as much as possible to serve you, and that if we see positive changes that can lower price, we will pass them on.

Thank you deeply for your continued support and partnership. As always, please feel free to reach out to our team with any questions.

Best regards,
Billy Lagor, CEO Entertainment Earth, and the EE Team

Wingnut and Screwloose were 21% off for Easter: https://bsky.app/profile/toyshiz.bsk.../3lnb5e6lmec27

Watch Amazon for deals on these figures.

What a mess. If not for Jada's Mega Man line, I'd probably bow out of collecting completely. As far as TMNT goes, I think all I REALLY want at this point is Molecular Amplification Krang (though the price on that one is going to be a nightmare at this point) and Machine Gun Granny.

I am curious to see what Super7 will do with their pre-orders since they already took the money. I can't see a price increase going well after the fact, but this is also a unique situation.

Give me Machine Gun Granny too

Super7 has been awfully QUIET about the tariff situation. You gonna charge us more for those older pre-orders or not? This goes for Mondo, Mezco, and all those who like taking people's money upfront.

Message from Super 7 regarding the tariffs:

https://toynewsi.com/345-57660

We want to share an important update about how recent changes in global trade and import tariffs are affecting us.

Starting today, April 24th, an 8% surcharge will be added to all non-apparel items.

We didn’t come to this decision lightly. For as long as possible, we’ve worked to absorb these rising costs ourselves—without passing them along to you. Unfortunately, the scale of these increases has made it unsustainable for us to continue doing so entirely. Even with this surcharge, it still doesn’t cover the full impact we're facing.

We’re doing everything we can behind the scenes to minimize the effect on our community. If conditions change or a better solution becomes available, we’ll reevaluate this surcharge immediately.

Super7 has always been about more than just toys—it’s about the people who collect them. We’ll keep you updated every step of the way, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding and continued support during this time.

Sincerely,

Team Super7

It doesn't say anything about pre-orders prior to April 24th, so hopefully the 2k3 turtles line will be alright

Lol. The price of TMNT Ultimates has gone up pretty much every wave going back to, what, 2019? They started at $45, and THAT was expensive. Now some are twice that, and most have seen at least a 22% price increase at the bare minimum. AND quality has dropped off a cliff since the first two waves or so.

I just don't see how they've made any effort to absorb any kind of "rising costs". If anything, they were cutting costs along the way.

But wtf do I know?

I'm done with this line and this company. And I was SO hyped when these first got announced and first started coming out.

I would say that MOST (if not all) of Super 7's Ultimates lines are DONE!

It sucks to know they is a classics General traag sculpted (and being revised over and over) but Playmates won't let them make it (for Super 7's new price of $100)

I don't know that many of the "luxury" toy lines are going to survive this. Even Jada, whose Mega Man line I currently love, loses a lot of appeal when you start creeping up into the $30 range. Super7 was already wildly overpriced, so even though 8% is a little better than some other increases I've been seeing, it still translates to all their figures being over $60. Same thing with NECA, really. They're a bit cheaper and a bit better quality, but I can't picture paying $40 a pop for their figures either.

It's already ruined some board game companies, too.

Holy crap. Given how wonky Super7 is with shipping, I usually just ship everything to my dad’s and grab them shortly after they arrive. But this year, I haven’t been home in almost a year and a half.

I just opened waves 9, 10 and 11 in one go.

When it all happens at once, the packaging is so excessive.

It’s weird too since I already got Scumbug and Wingnut as glow-in-the-dark variants.

Wave 9 - Scumbug and Wingnut are glorious. I know they both got a price jump, but both of them are ideal examples of what this line should be. The vintage colors pop so well compared to the glow in the dark versions. Zak is fun and I love how his proportions are kind of weird. Slam Dunkin Don is a fine variant. Flocked Splinter surprised me though, as soon as I got him out of the package, I had flashbacks to getting Movie Star Splinter as a kid! The robe is nicely done too.

Wave 10 - inexplicably, Classic Rocker Leo is… like perfect? His joints are incredible and he lacks the TMNT wobble so many figures have. How? How is it this ONE figure?! Mirage Casey looks alright, I really wish we got an unmasked head still. Karai and April share a lot of parts and work well as a what if - but there is something about both of them that makes them feel more like G.I. Joe Ultimates than TMNT - like they’re missing part of the Playmates charm.

Wave 11 - damaged foot soldier is a fun nod to both the mutating figure and getting Alpha-One is a bonus. For trooper builders, it’s nice to have some variants but it sucks that the heads aren’t really backwards compatible. Rapping Mikey is a great variant and clean update (the hat is genius), but I hate that his shade of green is wrong so you can’t use the serious head on his wave 3 figure! Nomad Leo feels like the token re-use in each wave that we’ve basically gotten since the beginning of the line. I like his swords though. Rat King is what I want this line to be though. I do wish he had some more vintage inspiration on the accessories but the figure looks great. The sexy head is a fun change of pace too, and way better than the Shredder toy head.

Ripping through all of these figures in a single night was kind of crazy and kept reminding me how much I love and how much I hate some of the choices in this line. I wish there was just a little more thought and care put into each figure - so many little details get overlooked constantly that hold this line back from being truly excellent.

Thanks for the visuals.

I don't have too many vehicles from the 2K3 line (probably have none other than this Toys R Us exclusive), I do have this SWAT BattlePack with the Helicopter attachment. I think it might go well with the S7 2K3 figures but I don't think they can actually sit in the vehicle.

Who is going to be in wave 14? Will it be 2k3 April or characters similar to Guerilla Gorilla and Karai?

Latest episode of Turtle Tracks had Kyle on.

Sounds like the line is now 2003 going forward.

Also, Super7 laid off a bunch of people today. Don’t know how bad it is yet, but I’ve seen multiple folks post about being caught in it due to the tariffs.

Kinda figured the Classics line was done. Playmates doesn't want superior looking copy's of their older toys hanging around anymore

Chumpy's tariffs seem to be working. It's going to make MANY people lose their jobs and lead us into a recession (all being done by design)

I know the tariffs are definitely part of it, but Flynn's wild mismanagement of almost every property couldn't have helped. It's mildly infuriating that he's still there while the artists are out the door.

Gutted we're likely never gonna see Traag or Usagi.

Oof. Lots of people at Super7 got let go from what I saw online - including Kyle, David (mechazone), Johnny (Sgtbananas), and more.

This all really sucks for them. Words can’t express how much this line got me back into toy collecting and I can’t believe I’m still posting on this forum 20+ years later.
