Some news

Spoiler:

Rumours are swirling that we're getting another edition of 'Tales of the TARDIS' soon, with the Seventh Doctor and Mel reflecting on 'Time and the Rani' from Classic Who series 24.

And episode four of the new series, 'Lucky Day', is about Ruby Sunday working with UNIT trying to save her new boyfriend from an alien called 'Shreek'

Spoiler:
Well that might just confirm the identify of Mrs Flood.

Q. What causes a flood?
A. Rain, an Anagram of Rani.

They did do a Tales of the TARDIS for Sutekh last year.

Really not much choice for a Mel centric Tales of the TARDIS, She was only in one and half seasons. and they tend to favour 4 part stories for Tales. Which limits her potential to 3 stories. Even then "Terror of the Veriods" is really too tied up and interwoven in the bigger Story Arc of that Season (Trial of a Timelord), it would some difficult.

Anyway Mrs Flood is the Rani, my best guess and did guess both Joe Hendy and Becky Lynch as the mystery opponents at WrestleMania this year.

Hopefully the Well is nice and scary, I keep hearing comparisons to the Satan Pit and Midnight, both good episodes. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Mr. Ring a Ding is a member of the Pantheon, Lux the God of Light, but he doesn't really do anything and in the end all he wanted was to go outside and bathe in sunlight, which he got to do and became one with everything in the universe (which makes no sense, aren't Gods suppose to be one with the universe anyway?)
The Fan Cameo was interesting, I was trying to look at their DVD and Bluray sets, just confirm it before it was on screen. At least they didn't use real fans, like that annoying woman (Christel Dee). At least they didn't roll out Ian Latrine.

The resolution was lame, mostly a good episode.

I'm wondering with all the 4th wall breaking and acknowledgement of fiction, we'll see a reference to The Land of Fiction? Previous done as a Tales of the TARDIS. (The Minder Robber 196

Or the Gods of Ragnarok from The Greatest Show in the Galaxy (198 where they are depictied as an audience of 3 at a circus and as described by Wiki "Gods of Ragnarok, who feed on entertainment and kill those who do not satisfy them."

The Later would fit with the Gods and Patheon story ideas over the last few series.

Rumours are The Well is a direct sequel to one of them

There's been no advance reviews for it either. We'll be going in blind Saturday.

"The Well" was alright, good tense bottle drama, and a sequel to a David Tennant episode.

Spoiler:
Midnight

I was a bit worried they'd show what the thing looked like or would tap into it's origins, but RTD and his co-writer saw enough sense not to do that and to still keep everything vague. Creature didn't even have some sympathetic 'redemption' story, it's still a dick playing with, and taking, lives. And the ending is left ambiguous as to whether or not it escaped the well (or if it ever hung around long enough for the captain to dive into it)

But overall some parts felt a little laboured and iffy, I didn't feel any impact with the deaths, I think it'd have been better if they turned behind the deaf survivor, there's a cut to a reaction, and then they're just laying there dead. Having them catapulted 'fatally' everywhere just looked so blooming comical, and there's been scenes in DW and other shows where being propelled like that doesn't hurt anyone.

There had been some hopeful it'd turn out to be The Satan Pit's follow-up (and there's a brief mention of 'Hell' which made me briefly think there'd be something to that), that would have justified the use of 'The Well' a lot better as everyone forgets it exists until the end.

The survivor is great and plays her part well, but I feel she becomes largely a plot convenience and then ultimately an afterthought. We never see her reunite with her daughter and surely if you're gonna pull the last-minute twist at the end, it should have been with her sitting in a recovery room with her daughter or something...maybe the daughter could have told her she was hearing things from an 'imaginary friend'

I like how Mrs Flood is always at the place The Doctor was just at. Foreshadowing

The season finale is scheduled to drop 11 AM on Disney+ May 31st, likely meaning the UK will transmit it live at 7 PM rather than drop it at 8 AM Saturday morning, they know how bad the ratings are and don't want a wash-out for what could be Ncuti's last episode as well as the last episode of the show to air for quite some time (it's largely consensus there's a major hiatus coming)

"Lucky Day"

Spoiler:
Kate gets more flawed with every appearance, surely it must be coming to a head in War Between?

She got away with a lot here, even her boyfriend noticed, but he didn't step out of line or call things off with her despite her actions, and Ruby I feel was far too forgiving of that, but hey, she's coping with mental fatigue and god knows what else, so maybe she shouldn't spend all that energy getting angry?

Conrad was such a good villain...is it me, or did anyone else think it wasn't him who broke into UNIT for a brief minute? Might have been the cap he was wearing or something, but I thought it was someone else from his group.

Ncuti managed to give The Doctor his best 'Doctor-Lite' scene yet. I loved how he had no words for Conrad in the end...there is no dealing with these sorts of people, and the snap of the fingers are back doing impossible things!

I figured Flood would appear in Conrad's cell, but I thought the TARDIS was going to belong to her when I heard it. Oh they got me there!

And The Doctor begins to learn more of Belinda in that twisted timey whimey fashion. Best use of time travel all series so far.

Strongest episode of the season so far. From what's been a very strong season.

I have to agree this season is much better than Ncuti’s debut season

Agreed Lucky Day is the best episode of the season so far.

"The Story and the Engine"

Spoiler:
I was quite bored by the middle act, nothing was happening, Ncuti was'nt doing anything, then things picked up in the last fifteen minutes and The Doctor was allowed to be The Doctor. Plus we got loads of clips from the series archives showing all the classic and modern Doctors.

Jo Martin made a super quick cameo as The Fugitive Doctor. The Doctor now seems to remember what he got up to in that incarnation!

Latest rumour from the reliable series leakers is

Spoiler:
The 16th Doctor has been cast, they're keeping it a secret until the ending of the finale, but it's a familiar name and is another woman

Jodie Whittaker is also believed to be returning for a small cameo

Mrs. Flood will be revealed to be The Rani next week
