IDW has finally made Mondo Gecko an interesting character...
... By making him a raging a-hole.

Hey, it's the most interesting he's ever been!
He's just a complete asshat now, raging against the machine.

First time I've seen Bishop put the hurt on somebody and not felt bad.
He doesn't exactly breathe, Mondo.

I know Mondo has a reason to get nude but it's getting kinda weird now. It's full frontal nudity now and he ripped all of it off in a single motion. You might as well have him run around naked all the time, it would seem a little less odd than constantly getting lizard strip teases.

So, does this finally confirm that IDW Bishop isn't human or even just a cyborg? He's all machine?
Odd choice with Mondo there, especially considering the previous two(?) instances in which he used his camouflage ability had him either shirtless (the fight against Bebop and Rocksteady) or made copious use of discretion shots (infiltrating the EPF). It's like he's really going all-out for the unlikability award. |

Mondo Gecko: Solving problems like a toddler by getting nude at any opportunity. Of course he'd lose his tail again I for one am liking Dad Bod Hob. I hope that Triceraton tank comes in handy for them when they have to defend Burnow against the EPF. Props to Skateboard Kid who is probably going to be totally unphased by Mike and Mondo now that the Triceratons have been around.

Well, I guess the jokes about Hob the "Pirate Kitty" are semi-canon now?

Mondo's tail....R.I.P.
It's interesting how easily they escaped Bishop and co, I know Bishop was more exaggerated here due to the art style but I wish he wouldn't be written so one-dimensional. What made 4kids Bishop so great is he was neither a good guy or bad guy, he had so much depth to his character and he was always able to control most situations he was in. The shades of gray is lacking from this Bishop so far, but then again this isn't the main series anyway. Was a nice Mike/Mondo team-up, and the backup felt like it would have fit in with the Archie Mutanimals, Ray actually did battle pirates and board a pirate ship in that series. |

Well, that was terrible. Kinda sucks that the last multi-issue story was so bad, hopefully the last issue is decent. The back-up in this issue was better than the main story, I think. I'm a sucker for Pete being silly

I think it was Bobby who said they will never kill someone just for the hell of it; they'll die only if they don't have anything to tell with that character anymore

Yeah, but doing that soo often, eventually it gets noticeable. Readers start to feel like the toys are just being put back on the shelf until it's time to play with them again, as opposed to them being living, breathing characters in their own fictional world, with their own fully-realized personalities and whatnot

Agent Bishop seemed different in this issue. It was not just the art, but he was a singke dimensuon out for blood direction. He was more crazed and only wanted the mutants dead instead of using them for a purpose. I dont recall a transition in his character for it. Perhaps #86-#88 will tell us especially about his true nature.
Nice character work for Michelangelo, Mondo Gecko, and Old Hob. I understand what Hob was saying, but he should have focused on Mondo's gung-ho attitude and not using stealth like Mondo should have.

Wouldn't say I disliked this, 'cause the artist is one of my favorite of the series & it was a fun little romp for these characters, but boy, the writer made Mondo incredibly unlikable.
