I looked it up, Sprockett was the child and Gaskett was the young adult. I would not have guessed that in the source material they were one and the same! Also, after being aged up he had a baby with his cousin. Were these characters like Sprockett/Boldont built by Mondo/Bacchus? A baby robot was it built or can they reproduce? I don't quite get how the machines came to be.

Ohranger didn't explain how The Machine Empire was built? Or reproduce such as Sprockett and his own offspring? I thought something like Brainiac which was built by a being and it turned on him conquering and destroying the homeworld before setting sights elsewhere would have been how it happened. Though it's just a guess.

I have been going back learning the character origins from the Japanese counterparts and how he/she was adapted in the five seasons I watched. I understand that the Gold Ranger is actually the Black Ranger of Zeo. How does the Machine Empire work into the character? Also, Mondo was defeated and his son the pint sized guy (sorry his name is forgotten with time)voiced by Barbara Goodson was also defeated, but his father was not destroyed somehow and gave his essence to grow him up and what we see are two separate characters? This spouse is his cousin who is in hibernation until he was of age? I assumed they were built by a corrupt conqueror before forming their own agenda. Is the son built by Mondo and Machine's counterparts? If these villains were built by someone it's odd that the old European keep it in the family thing would come into effect. Thanks Super Sentai fans for clarifying my curiosity.

Sadly I have only reached the halfway point of Ohranger as I have put it on pause so I can finish up Hurricanger (Ninja Storm) in time for the 20th anniversary special coming out.

clarifying the Black Ranger of Zeo and the Machine Empire counterparts origins. I found a video that
answers some, but not all. I had thought it was another planet which humans happened to be one of various races, but it's Earth. What through me off is Earth was in the Ediacaran period with advanced ocean life and four continents before Pangea ever formed. So the Zeo Gold/Oh Black was the first ever ranger and placed in hibernation like the Zyu team. This is because Mondo/Bacchus Wrath was a part of a robotic community built by humans and took on a vengeful sentience, but he escaped leading to the Black Ranger being put on ice to be ready for him. However, what about his wife and son? Were they built by Mondo/Bacchus or escape with him? Can robots reproduce in this continuity? Also, having a niece in hibernation until Gaskett was of age needs clarifying.I have a part of my question answered. The previous three were easier to figure out the counterparts and different stories. I found this one to be more complicated.

I saw a 30th Anniversary Special one-shot comes out on August 30th. Seem to be a handful of unrelated short stories. It features the first work of Amy Jo Johnson as a writer on the plus side. On the negative side it features a story about Tommy's marriage to Kat...wouldn't Boom know it would enrage nostalgics and keep them from picking it up?

As one curious of character reinterpretation of Mighty Morphin,Zeo, and Turbo would you mind expanding your thoughts on YouTube Junior vs Rito Revolto? My understanding is he is attempting to free his locked away father Master Vile's counterpart and disguised himself as a punk rocket. He is killed in a fight that would free Vile. Mighty Morphin kept the father-son relationship, but what else? I s Vile an evil spirit or demon? Does it explain why Yokai Junior is a militant skeleton?

Why would nostalgics get upset? It's canon Kimberly dumped Tommy by letter, they had no romantic attachment when he became interested in Kat, and those two being endgame has been established as far back as the Zeo Christmas Special.

If people are still hung up over Kimberly and Tommy not working out, that's their fault.

Vile here is, in essence, true evil. He is sealed away because if he was destroyed then his evil would be released would essentially corrupt the entire world.

When it comes to Kakuranger Yokai, all the Yokai are modern day reinterpretations of the classic spirits. junior’s specifically is a skeleton Yokai that is connected to lost samurai souls that died on the battlefield, for comparison Juuzo/Deker in Shinkenger/Samurai is the same type of spirit. So for Junior, his modern interpretation of this Yokai switched out the Samurai with an army man theme.

So Vile is the embodiment of darkness like Apocalypomon in Digimon Adventure?

It reads like Young Junior is a Monster of The Week in concept. Is Vile Junior’s biological father? I wondered because they seem to be different species even if one is the embodiment of darkness and one is a vengeful fallen soldier embodiment.


It seems like Power Rangers took face character villains and put an English speaking actor in the role similar to what was done with the Carla Perez Rita Repulsa instead of inventing something from scratch like Lord Zedd and take full costumed characters and readjust for American audiences.

Also, as for the above, even as a 9 year old at the time of Zeo it seemed like an out of character thing for the Dear John Letter and a sudden forced romance. I was taken by surprise that the possible future Christmas episode was taken seriously as a cannon thing and it was followed up on. I am glad that David Yost had Hasbro not lean so hard on it in Once and Always. I guess it's because I barely remember Kat's name and only cherish the original six.I can see casuals or nostalgics thinking the same. I would have picked up the 30th Anniversary comic since Amy Jo Johnson had a writing credit, but then another story focusing on the marriage of Tommy and Kat made me squirm.

Like I said, if some are so precious over MMPR and can't accept the canonicity of the show, that's all on them for continuing to define PR by it's first three seasons, but the long-term fans accept there is more to the show than them and understand the lore is what it is.
