Yeah Bay doesn't give a sh!t about the source material, he just does what he wants. The slightly difference between him and Boll, is that Bay didn't want to make Transformers or TMNT movies by himself. I mean, it's other company like Hasbro or Nickelodeons that requested him for doing those craps.

The thing I don't understand about Bay is his signature. In every of his movies there are explosions, sexism, racism, products placements, patriotism and so on. But does he really like all those things or does he think that we like them ?
If he likes them he's stupid as sh!t and if he thinks we like them then he is certain that we are stupid as sh!t.

Four Transformers films. Transformers is also apparently an IDW comic (although obviously not one I read).

It's more accurate to call Bay's stuff "80s cartoon movies", though.

I love how everyone says "car porn" and usually refer to the shots of the cars. When I think of car porn, I think of the scenes with the Transformers fighting. Like, those scenes look like large pieces of metal having sex with each other. It's horrifying.

They completely missed the boat and overshot on that one then, Bay should have been doing Nick's TMNT toy commercials instead. That line with the little cars (the ones sold alongside Hot Wheels), just imagine what he could do for that. lol
