HOW did you never see Devil's Rejects?
One of the best things about it is that if you want to you can just ignore the first one entirely, as they're very different films tonally and stylistically. "Rejects" is more like a 70s throwback, really gritty and grimy. Outside of the characters the two movies have very little to do with each other. To me, it's like "Corpses" tries to "entertain" you while "Rejects" tries to make the viewer legitimately uncomfortable in a way horror movies generally aren't "allowed" to do anymore. "3 From Hell" was okay. It retconned the ending of "Rejects", so I wasn't thrilled about that, and I'm not sure anything about it really justified its existence after "Rejects" tied things up so neatly. BUT, it's not bad or anything. "Rejects" was definitely the runaway winner of that trilogy. I'd put 3 From Hell right behind it and Corpses in last place easily.

Have not gotten around to seeing 3 from hell yet. I want to do a marathon but I haven’t gotten a chance.

Predator has advantage over Terminator, that its smaller, has only 1(2) good movie(s) and nothing else. No-one expects anything special from it, which leaves plenty of room for experimentation, but each time, those experiments end up being screwed up.
Overall it is definitely on the lower tier of the famous 80s franchises. |

But if you thought the ending of "Rejects" was where the story should have ended, you probably won't be swayed too much from that opinion. Although the whole bit with them getting out of prison and everything is honestly pretty fun and interesting. It's good, it's just not like mind-blowing or anything. "They didn't die in 'Rejects', then years later they get out and kill a bunch more people." That's pretty much the plot. But it's fun, I liked it. We did a marathon last October. Corpses was better than I remembered, still not great.

I didn't realize the main chick in this is the lady from that latest Liam Neeson movie, about the Ice Road Truckers. That wasn't a great movie (but it was a fun movie) but she was a standout in it.
Very interesting to watch. She's like Aubrey Plaza's younger sister.

So it is not called "Predator: Prey", but just "Prey"?

Apparently. Seems fine to me. It has the Predator font. One teaser trailer and everyone will know exactly what franchise it is.
Also as I'm sure the marketing machine revs up they will add some kind of: "From the horrifying world of Predator" or somesuch.

I think what the studio really means is "Pray," as in... "Let's pray this makes us money and proves the movie franchise is still viable!"

Ludicrous idea.
It's like calling sequel to "Alien" series "Local". |

Prey is actually a good title for something that is to be considered between a sequel and a spinoff/side story. I'm sure it will be called Prey: Predator or Predator: Prey in some country though.

Hollywood never gives up on a franchise, do they?

I'm OK with them trying again at this. And again, it's interesting that this is a full-blown Predator movie being conceived, written, produced and filmed post-Disney acquisition of Fox. So that gives hope for a lot of things.
My biggest concern is that this movie won't offer anything particularly new with the Predators. That it'll just be one and a half hours of a 5'5" skinny girl out-Arnolding a single Predator in the woods.
