Alfred Pennyworth getting his own series

Looks like Batman's Butler Alfred Pennyworth is getting his own series on Epix. It will be a 10 episode series titled "Pennyworth". The series is not a spinoff of Gotham. But will tell a new story about his origin.

In Gotham, they touched on Alfred's former life as a spy before he met Thomas and Martha and became the Wayne butler. This show will probably show a lot of that and not a lot to do with Batman's future enemies like Gotham is doing. It says he befriends Martha so it shows their life before Bruce is born like how Krypton is showing life leading up to the birth of baby Kal-El.

That TTG movie scene was the first thing I thought of when I saw this, I laughed and told my children' Alfred really is getting a show' (I know it was movie in the TTG movie)

So other minor Batman characters can get live action Tv shows while characters like Batman or flipping Nightwing can't? DA F kind of messed up system do we got here? I don't read the DC comics, outside of taking care of Bruce did he even have any thing in his past? Or will the crew simply have to make up crap?

I forgot this even existed until I saw an advertisement, is there anything good about this show? I quite liked Gothatm? Is this technically a prequel to it or totally unrelated? Why Pennyworth? Are there any bat villains in it? So many questions.

Last show that tried to make alfred young and badass was beware the batman I think.

This is one of those shows where you hear about and can't believe it really existed, let alone lasted 3 seasons.

I see a show like that and I don't necessarily wonder why it existed, but wonder why they thought it should exist over the any one of the dozens of shows that they could have done instead.

I thought it was one of those DOA projects, like Aunt May spin-off, but it actually lasted for three seasons!? Wow!

I am hoping the digital bundle of the series will eventually go on sale for about $10 or maybe as part of a movie ticket voucher incentive. Then I might pick it up and give it a try.
