Hey guys.. This project is a really long one in the making here.. I started this well over a year ago. After seeing Discogod's amazing Krang custom on figurerealm I was completely in awe of his work. In fact that submission alone was one of the main reasons I even got into TMNT customizing. (bows head) !Thank you! The base figure, I believe was a Samoa Joe wrestling figure. I also used build a figure hands and feet though I cant remember from where or who they belong. Back then I was in a frenzy acquiring fodder from everywhere and anywhere. This project would go back and forth between my desk and a bottom drawer. I would work on him for a bit, get frustrated, put him away, start another project, forget about him and so on this would go for a long time. Im not sure why. So after recently finishing my undercover Raphael I guess it was time to just bite the bullet and finish this guy. There are some things I like and something I would have done different knowing some of the skills I know now. Either way, hes done and Im glad to be done with him. whew.

Incredible job Kevin! I love the distinctive style and level of detail. I can see why you would have worked on this guy in small doses over a long period of time. Definitely veteran level work. :D
Cool shout out to Discogod too. Like with any artistic hobby, community is built on respect and giving credit where it's due, whether it be a borowed recipe or simple inspiration. You guys are both top notch. :)

wow, it is easy to see that you put a lot of effor into this. that is a really cool method you used for the flesh seems. it looks like you used real pieces of leather and stitched them together! your paints are very clean too. the only very minor constructive crit i have is the size of the shoulder boards. you did a phenomenal job crafting them, but they are a little too big and therefore tend to distract the eye from all the other nice details you added. if they were a little smaller and closer to/contoured his shoulders a little more, they would be perfect. still, very nice work man!

Thanks for the comment about the seams. I def wanted it to look kind of "hokey" and tongue and cheek. The design of this character is so silly that I just wanted an extra element of ridiculousness like a sewn on skin. With the paints, I go so thin with my paints. After a thin layer goes on I go back with a really clean, dry brush and go over it really hard like almost sanding down with the bristles; and then again with another layer and so on. That technique really works for me well.
YUP! If I had to do him over again (which I very well might with a diff recipe) I would def approach those shoulder pads differently. When I started him I was still kinda green and it was such a challenge to get anything to work in that little spot between his neck and his shoulder joint with out getting too much in the way of articulation. When I finally came up with the design for them I was like, "OH! That will work!", and just keep moving forward. Thanks for the comment Plastic P.
