I don't post here often, but I did want to share that I was at a local TRU in Minnesota yesterday and they had the 1988 re-releases with 2015 dates on the bottom of the package. Specifically, they had four of each turtle and three of each of Bebop and Rocksteady.
I've read people complaining of the paint jobs, but I had enough of a choice that all my figures look very nice. The ones I passed on had some badly painted eyes and the front shells were splattered a bit. Going to keep my eyes open for the foot soldiers. I own the 80s originals of Shredder, Splinter, and Foot but I've always wanted one or two more Foot. |

It ain't so much the paint that's on 'em, but the paint that ain't on 'em.

You should be able to pull up pics of the old figures and compare them to what you brought home. The most obvious differences will be in Bebop and Raphael.

I thought Rocksteady looked awful. You are right about Bebop though for sure! I think the vintage Rocksteady paint job was very well done. There just seems to be a lot more passion that went in to the original line.

Finally found both Monkey Brains and BonaFrog at Walmart in West Mifflin, PA. Also able to grab 4 classic turtles at the local TRU with plenty left! Sadly no B/R with the lot.

I remember when I was a kid I looked at my Rocknroll Raphael and thought he needed more paint just like the back of the box showed.

Saw the "Classic" re-issues in a Columbia SC TRU today. God, what sh*t. They not only skimped on the paint but did away with the original logo! I see no appeal whatsoever.

I saw that the other day at Target and thought it looked really cool. I have the original sewer set from a few years ago and don't really plan to buy this one but I'd be fine if my little boy wanted it as that would give me a great excuse. LOL.

Paula is fast to fix items though. I wanted a portal for old Playset. Sent a white lie email that I ripped mine. She sent me one in two days and I live in Florida.

I made a quick stop at Toys R Us today since it is usually when that store gets their shipments. They had three pegs full of the Classics figures. I saw at least 3 or 4 each of Bebop and Rocksteady and a bunch of the Turtles. No sign of Splinter or any of the others in the new shipments. They also had the Monogram blind box keyrings for $5 each.
I also had the Good Smile Michelangelo statue arrived from Big Bad Toy Store as well as the grey scale version of the Raph's sais prop. Add in Good Smile Leo who should arrive tomorrow and the Ultimate Playset I bought on Monday and this is one heck of a week. |

I am disappointed to note that the paint aps were not completed on BB from the waist down. He's just a plain black lump of plastic. Not cool. |
