Is there a way to get them to think about releasing all the issues as floppys?

Does anyone know if we'll get some of the odd and end releases in a collection? (like the infestation issues- I missed those!

Infestation 2 has already begun collection in trade paperback. Vol. 1 and 2 have already been released and Vol. 3 is due out sometime this month.

Rather than begin a new thread, figured it's best to ask here first. But where should someone who literally has ZERO knowledge about anything comic related whatsoever (well, from the purchasing aspect of things), start if they wish to begin collecting TMNT comics? I'm not even sure I understand how comics...work. So there isn't a single continued storyline for all of them? Do they start over from a new beginning and re-telling of the origin at the start of every arc and they aren't really related? I take it some are more comedic while others are more dramatic/serious? Serious noob here in the world of actually starting a comic collection as opposed to my usual second-hand story info I read online. Obviously I'm coming at this from a casual collectors perspective and I doubt I'll get too into the super rare, collectors, out of print, etc. comics, but I would like an actual set from beginning to finish, rather than a few random editions here and there I've bought from various hobby shops.

Of course the Mirage timeline gets a bit foggy, because there are four volumes. Each volume continues on from the last (except volume 3 & 4, more on that in a minute) and it's all part of one overall story. The Tales from the TMNT book is a separate series and falls into the same continuity, but the stories are ones that happen "in between" issues. Sometimes it directly relates to a main issue in the regular comics and other times it's just a fun way to do new stories that don't really have an effect to the main story. Volume 3 was done at Image and is TMNT in the future a bit. It's a fun read, although some loathe it... But when Laird started Volume 4, he basically said that none of Volume 3 was cannon and picked up more or less where Volume 2 left off. IDW is producing their own new comics, which have a new origin story and such. It's the current "new" comics and you might check that out as well. Archie did their own comics, which were more less a continuation of the OT, but they went in a completely different direction and had a lot more focus to solid storytelling. These are "sillier" than the Mirage/IDW/Image stuff, but aren't necessarily mindless kid stuff either. That should help get you on the right path. Feel free to PM me if you have more specific questions and I'm sure others will chime in as well. Mirage/Image have the most violence and adult content. IDW is just below that. Archie is considerably more tame by comparison. |

Awesome amount of info, thank you! On my day off I'll definitely have to settle down and really get a handle on things now that I have a bit more direction on where to start and figure out what it is that will suit what it is I want. I really appreciate the help and may just take you up on your PM offer in case I feel like I'll too many question that will clog up the thread
