The trailer has been rated, so expect it to drop soon. Also had to laugh at Screenrant talking about the ongoings that Spider-Verse launched...when Spider-Gwen is the only one of them still being published. |

This looks freaking awesome! First animated Marvel project since Avengers:EMH that has gotten my interest.

It's got a nice aesthetic, but there's not much shown in the way of story...

Its a teaser after all, they don't have to, by the 2nd trailer, we'll learn more about the actual story, I never read the comics, but its supposed be based on the Spider-Verse storyline, where you have a bunch of SpiderMan from different universes teaming up.

Being a 90s kid I'd love to see MC2 Spider-Girl, the Scarlet Spider but also Spider-Carnage and Japanese Spider-Man. I don't see most of those happening, especially when you have clone characters like Spider-Gwen who are popular today.
I hope it doesn't take away from this being a Miles Morales story but yeah, I do love me some 90s Spider-Man mythos, that's the spider-man I grew up with. I'm tired of "young Peter Parker" stories, when I got into Spider-Man he was already a grown up man. That's why Miles Morales works, he can have the type of stories that Parker used to have but the universe has also evolved from that at the same time, best of both worlds. |

My favorite animated film of last year along with Incredibles 2 and Wreck it Ralph 2 and Batman Gotham by Gaslight.
Very well written, likable characters, fine action, a sense of fun and fantastic animation. |

A huge sweep at the 2019 Annie Awards. It won every category it was nominated for.

There are bits I love. The action scenes are kinetic and fun. Like in the lab against Dr. Octopus or in the battle royale in Aunt May's home. It was also fun seeing an adult version of Peter again. I love the youthful side of Spider-Man, but the stories of him as an adult had seemed to be all but forgotten over the last decade or so.
Then there are stretches where I'm either bored, unamused, or desensitized by how much color is flying around. Overall, I'm a fan and hoping the sequel can improve upon the formula. I'd like to focus on less characters and increase the use of licensed soundtrack music, which I think can be really fun. |
