I think it's generally accepted that they had started filming, had to mostly-stop because of the pandemic, then kinda-sorta started doing a little bit here and there once it was "more safe", and now they have to stop again for a bit because of this. I don't think they were ever really all that heavy into shooting before they had to stop, as I understand it.

But like everyone else does nowadays, they kind of rushed out SOMEthing to be shown off in trailer form because 1. Not everyone was sold on the idea based on casting alone, 2. It's been ages since we've heard anything about it and if you're out of sight, you're out of mind, and 3. "We're all so starved for new entertainment" (Which plays back into Point 2).

So yeah, basically, they didn't get too deep in shooting but "We need to show something off or they'll forget about us" and all'a that jazz.

They made too much noise about it and already shot a bunch of stuff for it, is why.

They'll make about $50 back on HBO Max and that'll be better than nothing. After that... no more live-action Batman movies until studios figure out how to actually make a profit from streaming.

When studios figure out how to make movies again, expect TONS of sponsored product placement in every single film. "Spider-Man 3: Sponsored by Arby's!" Bruce Wayne will shop at Target and Walmart despite being a billionaire. And so on and so forth.

People who complained about the IHOP in "Man of Steel" being so prominent better buckle up. You ain't seen sh*t, yet.

Yeah they really need to re-think how they're going to release movies for at least the next 2 years:

1. Have them come directly to online streaming for a fee

2. Release blu-rays or digital downloads much earlier than intended.

Every movie delayed by 1-2 years is pointless, even when theaters open up most people won't flood to the theaters to begin with anyway.

We are living in the digital age, this isn't 1992 when people rented VHS tapes from Blockbuster. Just like VHS tapes went the way of the dinosaur, and DVDs are being phased out, so too are the venues of theaters. It's time to embrace change. It's 2020 not 1995.
