Jack's kind of a weird one, since he goes on and off like Mickey did.

Yeah, but Mickey was just... the tin dog.

I'm still waiting on my Jack Harkness / River Song team-up spinoff...

I don't think the world could handle their teamup . Their quickness to friendship would probably cause an implosion.

Jack should've stayed. Sure, it would've gotten in the way of 10s lovey dovey relationship with Rhwose, but it could've PREVENTED it.

I'm partial to agree on that trying to put romance between Rose and 10 was a bad move. And not just a bad move, but a terrible move.

Other than that, I liked Rose quite a bit, and didn't really like how her relationship with the Doctor ended up. Which made things turn sour with my girl Martha since she was basically a rebound.

Donna, however...that's what dreams are made of...

Martha and Donna are definitely my favorite over Rose and Amy. And even when Donna got the "ultra special companion" status like Rose and Amy, I didn't really mind it with Donna...especially since she didn't keep that "special status" for more than a few hours maybe.

But Martha was the most "normal" of the whole bunch of companions and I love her for that. Even her planetary trek in the Master Ruling Earth alternate timeline was subdued compared to the likes of Clara and River, for example.

Worst nuwho companion next to Clala and Martha.

Correct rankings are:
Donna>Jack>Nardole>Bill>Amy/Rory

POWER GAP

Mickey>Martha>Wose>Clahala>Adam

I don't mind Mickey that much...and think he got the short stick overall.

Overall though, romance does not belong in the Doctor's life at all. At least not with humans. Or half-humans...River.

The only time I've been okay with "the Doctor" having a romance is in another BBC show entirely. Doctor Turner and Shelagh in Call the Midwife.
Ironically played by the brother of the 8th Doctor...who brought the Romance Subplot to its head.

Sure, there were implications of the 3rd Doctor having feelings for Jo Grant, but they weren't fully touched on and when she moved on to someone else, he finished off his wine and drove into the sunset. Then met Sarah Jane.

(Meanwhile, I'm waiting for Paul McGann to guest star in an episode of CtM just so there can be a "Get the Doctor!" joke in a Crisis of the Week)

Mickey was just a little bland, and he had the downside of being associated with Rose, but that can't be helped.

You are so wrong. My subjective taste is better than yours!

River/Jack/Strax are at the top of the ranks.
Donna
Clara/Rose
Nardole

As you say, Power Gap

Vestra/Jenny
Bill
Martha
Amy/Rory

Again, Power Gap

Mickey, the Coward and the Tin Dog (who finally grew up and moved to, I'll say, Martha's ranking).

River that high? WHAT ARE YOU DOING?

I refused to put her on my list because of how much I despise her.

You, sir, have issues. Not fun comic issues, but like psychological issues.

I probably do, considering I still watch the show when I hate 80% of what airs.

At least tell me you respect Torchwood and the sacrifices they've made.

Never watched Torchwood, but I heard Children of Earth is pretty good. I dunno, never appealed to me and seemed kind of boring.

That being said, it gave us what is clearly the greatest Cyberman costume of all time.

Seasons 2 and 3 were stellar.

If you liked Captain Jack at all, go watch it. And sit through the pretty lousy Season 1.

Oh, it has a much better version of Martha in Season 2, as well... way improved. Competent, kick-ass, and not all "why don't you love ME, Doctor!?"

Companions that were cool... Amy/Rory, Jack, Rose and Clara.

Completely annoyong ones... Bill, Nardol.

I have no desire to see the next season so I hope the Christmas special helps change that... 12 over all didn't impress me much...

Would be at least interesting in HOW they give the Doctor another regeneration... I hope.

They explained that in the Time Of The Doctor. Matt Smith's Doctor was the last of the original amount of regeneration's, Clara pleaded with the Time Lords to help him they gave him a new set of regeneration's so he wouldn't die. Capaldi's Doctor was the first Doctor of the new set of regeneration's

Eleven specifically says he was given a "whole new regeneration cycle" before he properly became Twelve. You must have missed that, it's just as he finishes off the fish fingers and custard in the TARDIS.

You'd have to go back way back to the classic series to see the Time Lords first talk about giving their race whole new regenerations, they offered them to The Master in "The Five Doctors" when they asked him to assist The Doctors in the Death Zone.
