Thor: Ragnarok

Thought I'd start a thread for this now that they've got a director and now that the trades are confirming Hulk will be a part of the movie.

http://variety.com/2015/film/news/ma...lk-1201619246/

JoBlo's original report on Hulk being included makes it sound like we'll be getting some variation of Planet Hulk in this.

While seeing Hulk is great, I just want the Enchantress and Executioner to finally appear in the MCU. Always did love those two.

This.

I dunno, Hulk doesn't really seem like he belongs in a Thor movie. This goes two ways for me:

#1 I haven't liked either previous Thor movie very much (they're the only MCU movies NOT on my home shelf) because none of them have felt very gritty grounded Viking warrior Asgard mythological questy. Basically, I want a rolicking warrior Viking-god fantasy tale. But with Eric Selvig running around nekkid, Natalie Portman muttering about "sea bass", and The Warriors Three being nothing more than background character clutter... I don't see this as an indication that things will change for Thor 3.

#2 On the other hand, tying in a major character that I DO like (Hulk) makes it much more likely that I'll want to see it. So far, the only main Thor characters I like are Darcy (yeah, I said it) and Loki. Odin's a well done character, but he's a d!ck. And Thor... he's never convinced me as an interesting character. I know, I know... no one else agrees, but y'all don't have to agree.

I have enjoyed the last two Thor movies but I think adding Hulk would be a little too much.

It'll be interesting to see how the Hulk fits in, since it doesn't really feel like he belongs in a Thor movie.

At the moment, I have very little faith that Thor 3 will be much of an improvement of its weak predecessors...

Counting how many Marvel movies come out in a year do we really need a separate therad for all of them? I would think a general MCU thread would work with the exception for bigger movies or a big announcement.

Marvel makes the casting official.

Two-time Oscar®-winner Cate Blanchett (“Blue Jasmine,” “Carol, “Cinderella”) joins Marvel Studios’ “Thor: Ragnarok” as the mysterious and powerful new villain Hela, along with Jeff Goldblum (the upcoming “Independence Day: Resurgence,” “The Grand Budapest Hotel,” “Jurassic Park”) who joins the cast as the eccentric Grandmaster, Tessa Thompson (“Creed,” “Selma”) who will bring the classic hero Valkyrie to life on the big screen, and Karl Urban (“Star Trek” trilogy, “The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King”) who will add his might to the fray as Skurge.

That's cool, though I'm still disappointed we're still not getting the Enchantress.

Agreed. But this still sounds kinda cool. And I hate Thor 1 and 2--worst MCU movies ever.

I'll still hold on to hope we'll get Amora eventually. Almost forgot Skurge was Executioner's real name, so we're just halfway there.

As for Hela, she's still a good choice regardless. And that concept art is pretty cool.

Goldblum is a good fit for the MCU, but that's some ******** casting of Skurge. Urban better hit the gym and the vitamin store yesterday.

They're probably blending Hela and Amora into one character, which is fine I guess. This will probably be the last Thor movie, so that's the best we're gonna get.

Boo on no Sif or The Warriors Three.
